Just thought of another car one.
Big budget car adverts that then say ‘spec not available in your country’ !! Well just show me one that is then !
That and "Colour shown not available in all markets". They always have the most striking colour in any adverts, then its never available.

Something you often used to see in films / tv shows.

When an actor was driving a car, stops then opens the door to get out and then the car lurches forward.

Silly I know, but it used to happen so often.

Not car related , although reading some of these are another level.

Assault rifles/pistols in films;

  • everlasting rounds in a magazine
  • pistol guy always beats the assault rifle
  • continuous muzzle flash
  • ’making ready’ more than once

Every single semi-usable Reliant Regal Supervan being turned into a terrible Trotters' van replica.

Pointless thing to be irritated by, they're rubbish either way, but whenever one comes up for sale it's almost always Trotter'd out, badly, and they're charging silly money for it, it always irks me for some reason.
LOL
I used to have a regular run along the A111 near Cockfosters and there was one on a drive, how I bragged that I'd seen "the" Del Boy RR smile

British TV courtroom scenes where counsel leap to their feet and shout "Objection!"

Or when news reports say that a witness "took the stand" rather than "stood in the witness box".

Nah. Letters always come after the numerics.

I still can't believe how much surgery Mercedes 500E must have had.

Another TV/Film related car one, driving along with window down, arrive at destination and just go inside and leave the window down. Or vice versa coming out in the morning to a car with the window down.

I'm sure some of the TV/Film ones are caused by a scene being cut from the final production, which shows the driver coming back and winding the window up, but the amount of silly things that us petrol heads spot could, and should, have been at least scripted out in the first place, or caught whilst filming.

When drag racing your opponent and he is level with you, just change up into 13th AND push the throttle pedal all the way to the floor instead of the 3/4 you had it at.

Silenced weapons just making a soft "thwip" sound.

Actors always move the wheel side to side even when driving down a straight bit of road.
Sean Connery in Dr No ‘driving’ I think a Sunbeam Tiger wins that one hands down. Plus he scores double points for an appalling back projection.

Car races where the 2nd place car always has the pace to catch the leader but never the pace to actually overtake.

See also the pod race in Phantom Menace.

And the winner in this category is of course, Clint Eastwood and his inexhaustible MP40 in Where Eagles Dare. Even as war obsessed young lad I can still remember thinking “Hang on, that ain’t right,”

American produced stuff?

Yanks were (are?) bloody awful for just sticking the gearbox in park and not using the handbrake.

Every time the bd Nissan advert comes on and the bloke says “ok google send work blah blah” and my google pipes up and yells “I’M SORRY I CAN’T DO THAT RIGHT NOW” I want to set fire to every Juke I can find.
