Ive said why I thought it was terrible.
What was good about it?
I honestly don't get it.
Storyline was tired, exactly the same as about 20 other films, it was boring, every charachter and event was a cliche and it was about wrestling.
People think Micky Rourkes acting was good but it is simply not true. His face doesnt move any more so he is just like a talking mask. How that gets classed as good acting I cannot comprehend.
And as for the ending. I was just embarrased for the writers. Im getting angry thinking about it again.

You see, I liked the ending. I thought it was sad. What was good about it?

I liked Mickey Rourkes character and thought it was quite tragic to see him essentially kill himself, or at least sentence himself to a life as wrestler. He knew he could never be anything else.
He tried to get away from wrestling, he tried to create a relationship, tried to reconcile his life with his daughter and failed at it all.
Yes, it was probably cliched, but it didn't come across, to me anyway, as cheesy because of it.
I also though Mickey Rourke did an exceptional job in it. He looked strange, but it suited the character.
Saw it last night. Enjoyed the film, thought it was overall very good. Looks like it needs a 'directors cut' to ge tthe most out of it though, had a feeling it had been cut to make it a reasonable length.
Marissa Tomei was just superb. Great pair too.

Saw 'The Wrestler' film on Sunday night. I thought it was fantastic. Anyone else seen it? Fairly depressing stuff at times but you also get the 'at any cost' attitude to competing that these guys have. Mickey Rourke is really good in to too.
