Hollywood re-writes history -

1/ Americans defeat French at Agincourt
2/ Americans defeat French at Waterloo
3/ 300 Americans defeat the Persians (?) at Thermopylae
4/ Americans defeat the Luftwaffe in Battle of Britain
5/ Americans capture an Enigma machine and break the Germans' code in WWII

Obviously these are totally preposterous and would never get made

Has anyone ever made a Falkland's War movie? I would have thought there are enough interesting events in that war to turn into a film.
Good idea, but perhaps still too soon? I would like it as a documentary style. Mainly to know what happened to these men.
There were a couple of (BBC commissioned I think) films/miniseries in the 90s.

Was that the one about the invasion and the small platoon stationed at Port Stanley? The Argies fired around 10,000,000 rounds of ammo at the British, the British fired 6,748 rounds back, and one person was hit (luckily an Argie)

I heard something on the radio about Max Clifford wanting to get a Jade Goody movie comissioned. Apparantly he has been approached by three(!) interested companies!

I hope to God that it never happens.

almost 30yrs is too soon??

falklands would make a cracking movie but i can imagine the argies would kick up a stink about it, people don't like making films without 'proper' bad guys like ze germans, the north koreans, or anyone arabic.

i would like to see some great modern british war films, the battle for the somme would work, as would a british d day film. i heard spielberg was thinking of something similar to band of brothers, but with british forces. that would be very cool.

also: dangermouse the movie anyone? boxedin

How about a film that centres around a small online community of car enthusiasts, the owners of the webiste then decide to make some changes to the site without consulting the members. There is an uprising and the members go on the rampage killing anyone in their path whilst trying to get to the big bad corporations HQ's.

How about something like a movie about the Russian or French Revolution, but set in the UK in present day idea

Gordon Brown played by his cousin Roy (Chubby) Brown!

Though there's not much time to make this fictional movie before it becomes a historical movie laugh

All sorts of historical events that would make good films that have not yet been filmed.

Examples

10,000 Greeek Mercenaries stranded in the heart of the Persian Empire after the end of a civil war who have to fight their way home.

Hannibal (the one with the elephants)
