I bet they're kicking themselves over that one. Could they have not ordered them to co-operate? Obstructing them from doing their job or whatever?
If it was me I'd have been like "I don't think you understand, I said I'm from the police, we're investigating a murder case, you will co-operate"
I was expecting the detective to start threatening Vauxhall with obstruction. Perplexed that they didn't.If it was me I'd have been like "I don't think you understand, I said I'm from the police, we're investigating a murder case, you will co-operate"
I watched this too last night and thought it was a really good program. I too watched in disbelief at Vauxhall refusing to help with the paint code/colours.
I did think the main detective guy in it was a bit too smiley - probably because of discomfort in front of the camera though.
The CCTV evidence was quite compeling, and the dog carrying bit was quite good. I wonder (purely speculation of course as this wasn't what happened) if Mr Haque would have been found (and the victim identified) if he hadn't crashed his car into the wall fleeing the scene.

The Policeman giving a piggy-back to the sniffer dog in the Halal shop was the funniest thing I've seeb in ages.
I attended a derelict factory once for an intruder on premises call. I called up for a dog handler and was told to await his arrival and not to enter the building (it spoiled any scent of the intruder for the dog). When the handler arrived he told me his dog had bad feet and decided that the broken glass and debris might harm the dog so he wouldn't take him inside.
As the dog was already out of the van and raring to go the handler asked me to stay with the dog as he climbed in through a missing window and searched without it. Meanwhile the dog sat patiently beside me until his master returned and climbed back out. Searched with a negative result and promptly put his dog back in the van, said his good-byes and drove off to the next job.

I watched this again last night and while it didn't hold my interest quite as much as the murder case from last week it was still a very interesting program.
The main case, where the woman woke up in a hotel room after a night out with 3 other guys in the room was interesting to follow.

Wasn't impressed with the episode last night - the arson death one.
The police on it appeared to be rather unprofessional at times, although I understand that their laughing (and joking about kicking seven shades of st out of suspects) might just be releiving pressure.
Still, raiding that Fields bloke's flat 2 or 3 times and finding new stuff each time wasn't quite right surely.

The first episode was the most interesting. Fantastic series though, hope it comes back for another. As said I thought the standard of policing on the last episode was poor with searches being carried out 3 times, and finding new stuff each time. I can understand what problems that gives them, when the suspect was accusing them of planting evidence.

I thought he had a good point when he brought that up. Ok, he was probably lying, but there's something very odd about the whole situation. Obviously I'm not really in a place to criticise, but it seemed a very amateurish investigation all round IMO.First episode was fantastic though, really gripping stuff. There's no shortage of "Traffpol pulls over drunk driver" or "Plod arrest a load of drunks in city centre" type programmes, but there aren't many that give a genuine insight into the investigation processes behind major crimes. Would definitely like to see more of this sort of thing.

He didn't mean to kill anyone and was welling up with tears when the interviewer put that to him. Or have i got it wrong ?
Very interesting program, loads better than the other police/stop/camera/action etc programs.
