catch it from time time..... one of them shows Reading /Bracknell / Slough, which is my neck of the woods....
Seems a dodgy place wink

Nahh it's good programs, really enjoy watching them.
You have no idea... still will never be beaten by my fave clip... (although I have huge respect for the officers involved) routine Traffic stop in Hounslow, ended up with the passenger firing shots at the car, then the gunmens car stopped, out jumped his passenger who then started firing an AK47 at the car... the office was on the radio a few minutes later requesting new underpants...

was quite scary seeing somewhere that I knew so well in that context..
That bloke would have been gutted if it was an ARV that pulled him over for a 'routine traffic stop' hehe

Did not realise that ARV's did routine traffic stops!
Also thought ARVs carry guns in the boot? So would have had to jump out, showered in AK47 fire to get round to the boot.. Hmm.
Negative on both counts.

ARVs, at least in my force and surrounding forces are primarily traffic vehicles until they are needed for an armed incident.

Also the officers in these vehicles have standing authority for sidearms, therefore always carry.
So they have to carry a pistol on their belt the whole time?
Indeed smile Most people don't even notice.

That must be really, really uncomfy to wear whilst sat in an ARV..

Pat and Carl = legends. I like the two bald chaps as well (Chris and Andy I think?) but the rest of them aren't much of a laugh.

Pat and Carl are utter legends.

Really do have quite a thing for Simon and Charlie though- to the point I'd be tempted to go and act like a lunatic just to get arrested by them cloud9

What about trying to get them to come to BTaP 2010 tongue out?

I think it was one of the Road Wars episodes where they followed a unit in Gravesend. One of the coppers was giving some Saxo numpty a finger wagging chat which, without any sense of irony or humour, ended along the lines of....

"if you continue to drive like that, you'll end up killing a pedestrian, a passenger, yourself or worst of all, you could use your license!"

Also, has anyone noticed on these programmes the frequency with which they'll catch some scrote with half a ton of drugs, stolen credit cards, or any other red-handed, seemingly indisputable bit of obvious evidence only for the voice over to say that they were subsequently discharged due to lack of evidence!! ?

Really annoying! I've also seen people that have blown positive at the side of the roads and at the station and admitted to having had more than a couple, yet the voiceover says that there was no punishment due to an administrative error!

Almost as annoying as the scratters that get caught red-handed breaking / stealing something, always resist arrest so several officers get involved, then just get fined £120 (as it's been means tested and they're jobless). That's not a deterrent! That just means they'll have to rob an extra £120 in the next week!

Anyone notice that Ruffy from Road Wars is now a DC working in the National Car Crimes unit (can't remember its proper name), as seen on 'Cops, Cars and Criminals' on BBC1 - they were liberating cars from shipping containers at the docks last episode. He didn't get a speaking part this time though!

AFAIK they carry sidearms on their person, and they'll no doubt be a better shot than some young 'blud' blatting an AK47 out of a car window.

Yeah I noticed him too, Chris Ruff(Ruffy) I think! I regularly watch most of the car crime programs as they can be quite interesting. A PH member also appeared in a recent episode of that car crime program on BBC.

Speaking about Road Wars, does anybody here remember an episode where the officers are about to raid a house and an officer uses so much force breaking the door he falls into it rofl
