I saw The Good The Bad & The Weird recently, which was extraordinary. A Korean Western set in Manchuria.
I wasn't sure about this when I bought it, but it was excellent!

Another I have really enjoyed is a French film called Tzameti 13. Worth reading as little as you can about it before you get it, as it really builds the suspense well when you don't know whats happening next.

Waltz with Bahsir - Animated Beirut.
The Idiots - Danish film, very odd and highly contreversial.
Intacto - Had no idea where this was going.
Les Diabloques - Old school horror.
Harry. He's Here To Help - Really like this.
The Consequences Of Love - It this was n't Italian, it would probably be naff. But it is, so it is n't.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Red Cliff
Detective Dee and the Mystry of the Phantom Flame

These are just three off the top of my head but I've seen quite a few good ones.

The Counterfeiters is a good film, we went to the cinema not realising it was in German with subtitles as thats not usually our thing. We said we would give it 15 minutes then leave if it was rubbish. Turned out to be one of the best films I have seen.

Thats the one.
I knew absolutley nothing about it beforehand, so spent the entire film wondering if it was just just about to turn into some superhero action film! I'm glad to say it did n't.

Well I'll only watch well received foreign stuff (I'll assume we're talking about foreign language only as well) so here's a few I'd highly recommend-

REC
Battle Royale
The Host
The Secret in Their Eyes
City of God
Oldboy
Downfall
The Lives of Others
Infernal Affairs
Cell 211
Letters From Iwo Jima
Waltz with Bashir
The Orphanage

I doubt many of you have seen Cell 211 as it is quite recent but really fantastic. Here's the trailer with subs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbfadZUFrX4
