Am I the only one wondering what the filming vehicle was that spent all it's time in front of James May? I mean that didn't get stuck did it?
I was wondering that too, what camera vehicles were being used.Hilux?

I should imagine something like the Diesel FX4 with proper ground clearance and chains.
I hadn't even heard of the RCF before, but saw it and thought "ugly" so feel vindicated and would have the M4 (even if it should be called M3!) Didn't need any more LFA though.
Ice road Pickups. Was funny in places, but maybe a bit too long overall. But better IMO than the Ambulance piece a few weeks back.
Anderson. Well everyone's different I suppose. What was she plugging?

Probably not in the Rockies.

Surely their Polar Hilux would do the trick? I should imagine something like the Diesel FX4 with proper ground clearance and chains.
Half of North America is covered in ice & snow for quite a lot of the year and a local 4wd is all you need whatever your preconceptions.
When I worked in Alaska, all we had were 4wd F250's which were all we needed.

Why are people getting so wound up about the LFA being done again?
It's fantastic car and any excuse to hear that engine for another few minutes can only be a good thing.
they would rather get hung up about Hammonds length of stay on a mountain.Give me more lovely engine sounds .It's fantastic car and any excuse to hear that engine for another few minutes can only be a good thing.

Indeed, and people would have hoped like Clarkson that even a dreg of the LFA would have somehow made it through to the RCF.It's fantastic car and any excuse to hear that engine for another few minutes can only be a good thing.
It hasn't.

While it's not the point did anyone notice that the argument for 2 pickups was flawed - they were crew cabs.....
I noticed that but didn't think it was worth mentioning. It was clearly just a tenuous excuse for a "race" of sorts. You can keep Gillian Anderson who has that same irritating quality as Kylie, not that it matters.
I enjoyed the pickups, whether fictional or not.
The Lexus LFA was, as JC pointed out, an absurdly expensive car and the other ugly Lexus had to comply with pedestrian regs and is aimed at comfort-oriented Americans, to whom a 4000lb pickup is a normal weight.
I enjoyed it. Million times better than the ambulance garbage.
