No I don't think Carrie will, I reckon Saul has worked out what's going on after he got the message from the mole & Carrie's clumsy probing about a Russian spy. He'll have to decide if he gives her up to the Russians.

Good point, I forgot about that when I typed my response but it was obvious from his face that he clocked what was likely going on at that point.

Saul could sacrifice himself to save Carrie, we know he feels responsible for her, but that doesn't solve the mole problem.

Saul giving up the mole doesn't seem very Saul-like. Besides, she once saved his life.

Has the Russian ambassador got the clout to draw Yevgeniy's teeth?

When are they going to throw Zabel under a bus? They should gift-wrap him and send him to the Pakistanis.

Did anyone notice a big sign in the background saing "MIC ON" when the US President was exulting "fk yeah" after the missile strike on Jalal Haqqani? That might come back to bite him (and Zabel).

Saul has been unusually openly supportive and at times almost emotional about Carrie the past couple of episodes, plus bailing her out to his home, it does somewhat all shape up for a life or death showdown between them.

22.01 next week, with no more Homeland ever, is going to be a dark moment!

I think it depends how the situation on the Pakistan border escalates. What will the stakes be? If Zamal turns up & the Pres is made to look a tit so he escalates & then Pakistan are about to start lobbing nukes then Saul may well feel he has to step it by giving himself or the mole up.

It's been a great last series.

There's a saying I've heard somewhere: "once you save someone's life, you will always be responsible for them" (or something like that). Saul's mole might save him by turning herself in (hopefully after offing Yevgeniy).

That was just the comms between the team in charge of attack and the situation room. Why would the president saying “fk yea” after a successful mission to kill the terrorist they believe assassinated two presidents come back to bite him?

I'd be a little surprised if they actually killed Jala Haqqani in that attack. My guess is that it was pretty ropey intelligence and they probably ended up bombing an innocent wedding party or something, thereby escalating things with the Pakistani's.

I’m a week ahead, as I’ve just watched the last episode and won’t say anything at all about what happens. This series has been a great, played out a pace that prior seasons haven’t with real edge of the seat moments. Hope you all enjoy it next week.

The call from saul earlier to 'just give them some coordinates' means it was deliberately bad intelligence, a target of zero consequence to Pakistan in terms of damage but something to placate the US and buy some time. But also something they can always use against the US if (when?) things go really tits up. Saul knew it was bullst as that was his play. Pres and his aide are (as normal) completely clueless. David probably knew as he was suspect of the convenient timing of the intel

As for Saul and Carrie, i think he knows everything. And that just raises the tension. Will he willingly lay down his life for the peace he's worked for over the last 20 years (once he's guaranteed the agent is safe). Carrie would be the one person he'd let do it, and he might build in a way to exonerate and protect her too.

Will there be a spin-off of some sort, do we think?

There isn’t anything in there that isn’t already known, or that gives anything away at all. It’s more a courtesy. There is no plot discussed at all, nor is anything given away.

One minor niggle (last episode)

the bits inside the UN really boiled my piss and didn't really make sense. You have a gun, why are you running?
Because it's not 24 and there's no Jack Bauer fending off 50 gun-toting bad guys with a screwdriver, it was half a dozen armed Russians versus them tongue out
