The deleted scenes are st and dont add anything to anything. There are 5 and I think they are all under a minute. Dissapointing.

The main documentary is quite good though.
Ah well, the sad thing is, theres onbiosly a lot been changed, mainly from maz kanata parts onwards, as a lot of toys and promotional images arent in the film, but there are toys for them, i.e. imperial snow speeder, and the whole republic world going bang, all the people on a balcony looking at it coming, they are all apparently quite important to the republic and Leia., but you only find this out from the DK visual guide book (i got it for £3 in tesco instead of £25 rrp!

I still really like it, its my joint 3rd with Jedi now. Empire still the best.

Though i STILL need to watch rogue one trailer on something that isnt my stty phone screen!
There is actually a snow speeder deleted scene but its not finished CGI wise. Its quite funny actually! Not sure where it would have been placed in the film we ended up with though - probably why it was cut.

Didn't get to see it at the cinema, but watched the Blu Ray this evening having successfully avoided all spoilers. Really enjoyed it overall, felt like a logical extension to the franchise and real environments instead of green screen made it seem more believable.ALso got the balance right between referencing what had gone before and bringing in new elements. Not ashamed to admit I marked out when Hand and Chewie appeared again, or the X-Wings flying low over the water.

One minor gripe was the Finn seemed to change his allegiance too quickly. I could understand if he was conscripted or press ganged, but they say he had been conditioned from birth? But still a great film overall

Sorry.

Loved the documentary, could have done with it being at least an hour longer as there was so much ground to cover it was all at breakneck speed.

I'm not sure why people were expecting much in the way of deleted scenes, with the amount of work/money that goes into a single scene they're always going to trim the fat long before shooting. With pre-viz etc they can get a good idea of pacing before shooting a second of film.

I am of an age where I fell in love with the original movies. But age puts a perspective on things I guess.

Some of you chaps take this way too seriously.

I think the new film was pretty much perfect for its intended purpose. It had to reboot the franchise, appeal to kids as well as grown ups, and make money. A lot of money.

Job done in all respects IMO.

I went there willing to be entertained and not think about things too much. It was fun. It rattled along at a decent pace, did not sag in the middle like so many films do, and set us up nicely for the next one.

I liked it a lot.
Got to watch this last night and ^^^ this about sums it up. It was great.

I also loved the fact that it didn't contain crap like stupid teddy bears, children and (above all) Jar-Jar fscking Binks!

I was also impressed that they'd not gone mad on the X wings or Tie fighters, pointlessly changing them. They looked, as far as I remember, just the same. Even down to the "monster chess" on the Falcon, and the 70s computer game graphics on the gunners screen and noises Falcon. It was very well done.

We watched the extras from the Blu-Ray yesterday, and I learned that the monster chess board fight continued where it left off in the original Star Wars, when Fin inadvertently switched it back on!

Harrison Ford also asked if the toggle switches on the Falcon had springs this time, as in the original, they didn't have any (for budgetary reasons)!, and if he flicked the toggle switch up, it would slowly return to the down position! hehe

Got, but haven't watched my Blu-Ray. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a choice of dark or light, but I ended up with dark.

iirc the default choice was Dark... But you had to cancel your order and re-order if you wanted Light.. So I just left it as it was (from Amazon btw - did get an email about it a few weeks or months ago)

Saw it on an Etihad flight a couple of weeks ago.

I actually enjoyed it apart from their successful effort in finding a stter actor than Hayden Christensen to play Vader mk2

Nah, the film is well liked, Well there's a lot of waffle in it, but he gets to it at the end. JJ is obsessed with magic boxes, and tried to make Star Wars revolve around it. Who is Rey's mum/dad etc. So it doesn't feel complete like any of the old the films did.

I thought Adam Driver was brilliant. He is normally good in everything he is in.

Loved those two facts from the doc, really enjoyed it.

adam driver worse that HC? come off it - you watched a different film. I thought him taking the mask off was a good idea. I'd have liked more back story for Kylo Ren as the paternal / maternal line for him was a bit too dotted I thought...

I really liked it and Oscar Isaac was great - he was excellent in robin hood and really good in this, as said before though I think Ms Ridley stole the film.

Disagree, thought it made some good points.

For me it was a very average film that rushed about too much, copied too much from the original, and rebooted a franchise that didn't need rebooting! All for the sake of a few billion for Disney. It's set up perfectly for them to make movie after movie after spin-off for them to reap megabucks and compete with Avengers and X-Men franchises in terms of milking an idea dry. They've already tentatively announced the timeline for the next Star Wars films, before even knowing what will be in them. That should tell you enough.

As a massive fan of the originals, it makes me sad to write that.
