This is it, good storylines and you’ll put up with average/bad acting.
Good acting and you can oversee the holes in the storylines and enjoy it.
Problem atm is that the storylines and the acting is bad - there is no hope for enjoyment!

Take the Johnny story line at present. We all agree it's crap. But I bet Steve, David, Peter or Tim could pull it off but Johnny is just rubbish. Perpetually pulling over exaggerated faces that makes it implausible. Surely it's also the Directors job to get that right too. Johnny has been in it for a few years. He hasn't always been that bad.

But the interplay between Evelyn and Roy was another masterclass - simultaneously moving and amusing .
Indeed. Given that it must be the same script writers throughout the current series, then it must be down to excellent acting by Maureen Lipman and David Neilson, in sharp contrast to most of the rest of the cast. I loved the robbery scene. Man walks into bar dressed exactly as before but wearing a silly mask. Nobody recognises him then he shoots the only policeman in the village and runs out. 5 minutes later he is taking to Johnie still wearing the same clothes but without the mask. No police search for the gunman so he can carry on as if nothing had happened. Bloody ridiculous!!
Next he will be flashing the cash in the bar and nobody will suspect anything.
I agree with the comments regarding Gale. Perhaps she could have a decent haircut from her Mam and they could stuff the cut hair into Leanne's big shouty gob!!

Word on other forums is Scott may be in cahoots with Ray, and it was staged....We'll see.
Also Natasha is Ray's wife.
Also Todd and Paul will get it on, leaving Billy Vicar out in the cold.
The possibilities are endless on the cobbles.
Scott has frequently been in the bistro and his voice is instantly recognisable. The mask did not cover his distinctive sound and Ray would have known straight away who it was. Must be a set-up or the daftest plot ever. Take your pick. Also Natasha is Ray's wife.

BTW IMHO the covid problem will be here until 2023 or thereabouts, at the rate the world's scientists are solving the vaccine. We're going to have to get used to the weird staging of scenes. It really does spoil things but the alternative is inthinkable - no Corrie at all.
