After watching Maldo I had a quick look at the first 15 mins of SW IV:ANH. It looks weird in 4K, like they've reshot it using video cameras.
I had a quick skim. Last I watched any Star Wars (apart from Solo on 4k disk) was on a 30 inch CRT meaning this looks better than I remember, I have done this avoiding for a reason and that was 4k. They are throttling this, I might hold off the newer stuff till the speeds up some. I get very picky with visual quality.I do have the new box set on order even though this streaming is now payed for, I think it will deserve the hard copy for my preference, not to everyones taste. At least if the internet dies I will have a lot to watch, be interesting to compare the streamed throttled to hard copy.

Is anyone else pissed off this is another financial outgoing? I pay for BBC, Amazon prime, Netflix, NowTV and now going to have to buy this disney channel
Subscriptions are the future. There are monthly subscriptions for everything nowadays. I do it for pants, mrs p does it for makeup. Dog food is on subscription too. Sky, BBC and the other terrestrials are all changing and offering these types of monthly plans.

Yeah but I hope you’re not all naive enough to not see we are ALL going to end up shelling out far more. Everything is cut & divided up and you need a bit of each (provider) so you end up forking out loads
You really don't.Based on how much stuff you want to watch, and how much you think it's worth paying for determines how many you subscribe to.
And most of these services have a 30 day 'contract', so unlike Sky you're not locked in to price rises etc for 18 months.
Unless you have a lot of free time it would probably make sense to jump between them a bit. For example alternate months between Netflix and Disney+. Only takes two minutes, sign up and cancel immediately and it will automatically stop after 30 days.

They own the content, I want to get it. Requires an exchange of funds, same for a record or CD. If I bought the hard copy in 4k of what I want to watch, it would cost me more than a few years worth of disney. Though just shelled out for the box set but 9 films (and extra's totalling 27 discs) balances out at 4 years of disney. ish.I have seen a lot of comments about people getting upset when the likes Netflix to get a competitor, only need one service they say, shouldn't be pulling stuff back they say. Going to make it too hard to work out payments or too many options etc. I work out and pay a lot of household stuff, cars and holiday insurance and so on. That is not a problem.
Digital should be far easier and if I had the wherewithal I would have an app that dips in to the various services and bills for what I use. That will need the suppliers to be on board but I expect something will happen.
I stopped Netflix because the 4k was meh. The "original content" hit and miss and they auto play (now stopped) was terrible and one episode they had, absolutely shocking. I get screwed over more by BT for the 4k tv package I am locked into, that will be gone when I can. Never had Sky but I understand their full package is eye watering, my BT is nigh on a grand a year.

We already paid for Disney Life (a godsend) when travelling and the Cars/Pirates/Lion King DVDs had almost been worn through in my house so signing up to this was a bit of a no brainer and I get the MCU as a bonus.
Amazon/YouTube have Thomas covered and I get Picard and The Boys as a bonus.
If Virgin would just let me cancel the TV package I’d be sorted!
