MB's wife's Instagram was on the side of their gazebo, so I guess it's a family affair. Maybe Elvis was somewhere else that day ? I'm sure the Transit owner could have loaned it to MB for the show too. I've seen lots of cars from TV shows on their stands. It doesn't mean none of them sold.
Mike tells the ownership story of the Transit hereI wonder if he had the Transit done as part of the show.

I have always been a bit ambivalent towards Mike. I remember the early, early shows he did with Richard Sutton I think it was and he was a perfect foil for the other fellas urbane sophistication. That video really endeared him to me, thaks for sharing. Always liked Johnny as a presenter, seems like a decent spud.
This, pretty much. wpa1975 said:
No way did they respray it for £930, £3k I would say would be the bare minimum.
Maybe they had to show a lower price to make sure they made a profit.
Shortly after the Transit show was on the WD facebook page was promoting the episode, someone posted a comment about how on earth do they respray a LWB Tranny for £930?Maybe they had to show a lower price to make sure they made a profit.
WD replied saying it was only the cost of the materials as 'they did the work themselves'
Argh, they just forgot to mention it on the show

Owd art yer and.
No thanks. Useless presenter and was a dick to Ed.
I could not stand Ed as a presenter. Similarly I'm sure he is a lovely guy and would be great to chat with over a pint but he was so terribly wooden. I'm not a WD fan but much prefer Elvis, and even like Ant marginally more. No thanks. Useless presenter and was a dick to Ed.
Last Saturday's CCA Auction had a few WD show cars for sale, did these cars sell on the episodes they were featured in?

Video by Mike previewing the auction, including the WD cars. I assume the 'sales' shown on the show fell through...

That's a blast from the past. My first car was a E reg 1.1L almost identical to this one. Same colour, it cost me £6,700 new in 1988. https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1985-ford-fie...

I don't agree, in Edd's days it was in most cases fixes you could do at home, Ant arrived and it was a complete change of direction and loads more fabrication work including making exhausts, no chance that you could do any of this at home. Now we have Elvis who seems to do very little repair work, I believe they now employ 10 additional mechanics behind the scenes plus whenever a complex repair is needed it is always the same and Elvis has a mate who can do it on the cheap.
The show has had it day, too many other people doing the same idea.

And yet, it's more popular and makes more money for all involved than at any point in its history. Seems the market for the new model is far greater than the market for the old model. Personally, I preferred Edd (engineer) to Ant (fabrication) and definitely Elvis (fitting wheels on wonk and using 'mates' facilities) but can't argue with Mike's business logic. Good luck to him.. through hard work and a dab of unique personality he's made himself a fortune and is living his best life - we should all be so fortunate.
