That's really interesting. I thought it was more South African!

And yes, Drummer
I've always thought it was South African/Afrikaans based.
Me too! I thought it was a good way to differentiate the different groups of people, while still being just about understood.

Apparently is Creole based - there are language and vocabulary guides on the internet. nerd

Only watched first episode so far, seems ok, kind of a cross between Narcos and The Wire.
Looks interesting but can't find it anywhere on Prime. You sure it's under that title?
Sorry. There i go making assumptions again. Wikipedia says it has only had limited release so far (Prime in USA, Canada etc) but will air in UK on 26th on Sky Atlantic. Finished it now and was an excellent series, quite brutal in parts.

Just started rewatching The Last Ship, deadly virus, global pandemic, 80% infection rate, no effective government, stopping off at warehouses and grabbing pasta and tinned tomatoes. All very familiar.

Quite enjoying Brain DEAD despite it being about American politics. Produced by Ridley Scott.

What's interesting about it is that rather than the catch up from Ep1 that would normally precede Ep2 e.g. Previously on ..... The way this is done is the title song for each subsequent episode is different and the lyrics give you the catch up. Cleverly done.

Also; I fear I'll be getting flashbacks to this series when I hear The Cars : You Might Think the next time.

I enjoyed that. In the interest of no spoilers lets talk again when you finish the season.

Watch Skyscraper yesterday, with The Rock

A modern mix of the towering inferno + die hard with a healthy mix of AI and connectivity thrown in.

Some of the in-the-air scenes made my hands sweat.

Watching Battle - right now - interesting to see the "customer also viewed" section - lots of hidden scifi/fantasy "gems" from back in the day added to my watchlist now -- one of the things i like about prime is these older movies that do not have much mass appeal.

Music from this is by JAMES HORNER btw - lots of it lifted directly from his Star Trek I and II movies...

I watched this last night with my wife and daughter, based on your post.

They now think I'm an ahole with terrible taste in films.

Thanks for that.

well yes it is a crap film - sometimes though a crap film is just what you need. I enjoyed it by that metric
