Listening to the radio 4 programme about the making of 2001: A Space Odyssey, I was reminded of this scene:

You could be forgiven for thinking that Bowman is floating around in a spacesuit in a library...

There was a program on BBC (I think) yesterday on the making of the scene above saying how he was on a wire that was then connected to a rope with knots in. Some bloke held onto the rope and let it go and when a knot reached hi he wold grab on and then his weight would lift the actor. No clever tech back then smile

At last saw this yesterday - absolutely loved it. It's a sci-fi adventure film - stuff the physics etc. Apollo 13, yes, I expect reality. Not Interstellar.

Visually it was truly amazing - especially the Saturn/wormhole section. And the robots for me stole the show.

It'll be interesting to see how Interstellar looks on the small screen.

I thought it brilliant in the cinema and would like to watch again.

You can buy it on iTunes as a digital copy, not physical. You can rent it (stream) on the 30th in iTunes or purchase the disc.

Been listening to the soundtrack a lot this weekend.

Both the fiancee and I have agreed that it's a film we will watch again and again.

Feel like another viewing this week. smile

There was an interesting ( well interesting if you like the film music smile ) program featuring Zimmer, Nolan and Roger Sayer ( the London church organist ) on recently.

I'm obviously cut from a different cloth to most it would seem as I found the film dragged. The concept and story was ok but the way it was told was long and laborious, it could have been compressed massively.

At least made it though though, the missus fell asleep!

I thought it was boring and over done. Self indulgent and not much better than Prometheus
