Completely agree with the sentiments above. The plot is a single series only affair. Actually, it could have made quite a good feature film, or action packed 3 part TV mini-series. It's entertaining as it is, however lacks any depth to drag on past a single series.

So what does that mean? The plotline isnt going any further and there's no conclusion to it? Typical considering the only reason i've continued watching through the poor acting is to see what actually happened..

Two more weeks on Channel 5 and that is it then I guess. I can't see any kind of closure on the horizon if I'm honest ... The final episode will have been made long before the axing was confirmed, and its the "Lost" people afterall.

There was another show that I stuck with thru 24 episodes, a lot of them going nowhere but I got sucked in and stayed with it.

It was axed back in the States so we were left with an ending that promised more but that was it.

Can't remember what it was called now but it was set in some steamy Southern part of the States with something seen in the water and some of the humans had been taken over although some did not know it.

Much prefer Strike Back on Sky One. Put your brain on hold and enjoy the ride. A couple of running themes over only 6 episodes and the main story is done in 2 episodes shown back to back. Well done UK.

I remember that. Went on forever with no reasonable outcome.

That would be "Surface" with genetically bred uber lizards that took over the world. Not a bad show, but they basically wrapped it up in one episode because it got axed and we were none the wiser.

Full points to the person that said Invasion.

Surface was similar but was quickly moved from terrestrial to freeview, so just disappeared I believe.

ahh thats right. Wasn't Sideshow Luke Perry in it as well? He was perfect for that role with his freakishly alien elongated forehead..

No. He was in a mini-series (made some years earlier) also called 'Invasion' and about an, err, alien invasion.

One mentioned above:

The standard of acting hasn't improved at all during the series has it?

Everyone's telling them what's going to happen next. They still do the things that lead up to it. Can't they read the script!???

paperbag Well, alright, apart from the things that don't look like they're going to happen after all.......

While I'm still happy it's not going to be dragged out over several years, Lost stylee, I can't help feeling that there might be a lot of things left unanswered in next week's finale...

Don't think the rumours were confirmed in this thread, but the occasionally correct Wikipedia reports:
On May 13, 2010, it was reported that FlashForward would not be renewed for a second[ 8] season.[ 8] ABC confirmed on May 14, 2010 that the season. ABC confirmed on May 14, 2010 that the[ 9][ 10] show has been cancelled.[ 9][ 10] In an interview show has been cancelled. In an interview with Time Magazine, co-creator David S. Goyer said, "I never saw it coming."

I know the final episode airs tonight in the U.S.
Does anyone know if its a 2 hour special? (or 1 hour 20 minutes without the adverts!)

I don't think it's a two hour special as Five have got it starting at 10pm and finishing by 11pm.
