Just about to switch from our free Amazon Prime trial (not enough good stuff to continue beyond the free period) to paid-for Netflix and wondered if there's any sign-up SNAFUs/referrals/deals to be aware of?

As far as I can tell, we just sign up at the web page - just the £5.99/month basic subscription. But with Black Friday not far away, I'm wondering if there are likely to be any deals?

Coincidentally, I am out of contract on my Vodafone pay-monthly SIM-only, and could sign up for a phone+Netflix account, but it looks like Dosney+ and Prime and Spotify are the main entertainment offers being pushed. Can't see a sign of Netflix in the offers.

Thoughts? (Other than saving money on 5.99/month being 'a bit council') wink

Wheels of Fortune ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9735976/?ref_=fn_al_t... ) stupid, puerile, dumb, predictable are all accurate descriptions of this but I enjoyed it. Made me laugh.

Rarely see offers tbh and be warned it's more like £12 for 4k worth it though imo

You also get 4 screens so can have 4 people in a household watching if you have kids etc

Thanks. Um... we're not (yet!) a 4k household. We might just manage 1080p smile and there's just the two of us watching together - never more than one connection at a time.

Bosch - I’m sure it’s been mentioned before but a shout out for this LAPD drama series which has been going since 2015 and consists of 5 Series of 10 episodes each. Was recommended this series by a friend and my BH have been binge watching from Series 1 and we have just started series 5. It’s best to start from Series 1 so you can follow the development of the Characters. Each Series has a main story with recurring themes ongoing throughout. Not that I know much about American Police procedures and language, but there is a feeling of realism, whilst still containing enough action to keep you engaged. Recommended.

Gun City - Spanish film with English subtitles, set in early 1920s Barcelona. The plot had a few holes in it, but it's beautify made and very enjoyable.

Paranormal.

Egyptian thriller set in the 60's. Those after an outright horror series will be disappointed as this is more in line with Stranger Things and Dark when it comes to fear factor, and the low budget brings a few hilariously bad CGI 'monsters'. However look past that and this is a real gem that is completely original.

Just like The Queens Gambit this Netflix series pops up from nowhere yet happens to be brilliant.

Finished Suburra, fantastic final episode that would have fitted in perfectly with Gomorrah. Very slick, dark and some unexpected moments.
+1 Rich
I introduced Mrs C to the series and we’ve started from series 1 now onto series 2. Better a second time...missed so much detail first time round...
Anyone else start muttering 'Nooooo your'e effing kidding me. Doubtful there is room for season 4 but possible. Great show, shame if it disappears.
The last episode crept up on me! Deep!

Anyone searched for BBC to see what BBC shows you can watch on Netflix. There is quite a lot.

It gets dark, quickly! Really enjoyed watching this one.

Filming is meant to start today, with 14 episodes probably split over 2021 and 2022. It'll be the final series.

Cannot wait.

Are there any other Netflix dramas that - if you like Ozark would be right up your alley?

Narcos
Narcos: Mexico
The Sinner
Better call Saul

Enjoyed all of the above

I'd suggest getting on IMDB. It recommends other programmes similar to the one you're browsing.

As an Ozark fan I enjoyed these crime dramas:
Narcos & Narcos Mexico
Suburra
Sacred Games
Better Call Saul (if you can get past the very slow start)
Cocaine Coast
Top Boy (Summerhouse is the beginning)

(Thusnelda was a positive factor) I hope it gets renewed.
Perhaps I am missing something but I thought it covered a one off event in history (battle of Teutoburg forest) so would be a one off series?

The ending leaves it very obviously for a continuation.
There has been quite a lot of speculation from the writers about where they are going if it gets renewed.
