Seems they've released three episodes?
Just watched the first - so bittersweet knowing it's been pulled. Just so damned good. All the little touches that say so much (but perhaps are a bit obtuse for those who haven't read the books).
And yes, Amos is my favourite.

Rewatched the whole thing in the last couple of weeks.... and just now watched the first one of the new season..
I'm starting to think this is my favourite TV show of all time.....
It is incredible. I'm starting to think this is my favourite TV show of all time.....
Have you read the books?
The one thing I notice more and more is really subtle little clues to the macro economics which underpin so much of the politics and activities. I'm not sure I'd notice them without having read the books.
Good shout. They do - massively. Not just as they're further along (but only really getting into their stride) but also the chronology is different.
I'd "hope" that after reading the books, there'd be value in rewatching the show - I reckon you'd notice quite a few things that you wouldn't necessarily have noticed this time round.

After a so-so S4, which felt much like a transitional or set-up season for S5, I'm really glad the first 3 episodes of S5 did a comprehensive job of picking up all the lingering story lines and started tying them together. Can't wait for the rest of the season; Amos is still my favourite character, now that Ashford is no more.
FWIW, I had no idea about the whole investigation around Cas Anvar; looks like there is substance to the allegations as he's been dropped from the final season. Hopefully it won't sully the rest of this season.

Is there any info on what he is alleged to have done? I found a thread on Reddit but it seems to be mostly him contacting women on social media, asking a member of the production crew on a date etc and continuing to try when told “no”.
That would be enough these days to be classed as sexual harassment. Nothing wrong with asking a work colleague out but if you don't stop when she says not interested then that is harassment.

Fantastic first episode to the series. Such a shame it’s only getting one more season considering the dross that keeps getting renewed *looking at you STD*
It's quality stuff. Still not really 100% taken by Naomi (not sure if it is the performance, writing or character) but Amos and Avisarala are awesome characters/actors. Holden, Drummer and Bobbie are decent.Overall plot is excellent, plenty of drama and intrigue. Probably helps a lot that the source material comes from established novels.

What a wonderful world we live in now. All hail Social Justice.
You appear to be lamenting the fact that these days a guy can get into trouble for not respecting that "no" means "no". Edited by Clockwork Cupcake on Friday 18th December 15:29
No does not mean "yes, but only after you keep pushing".

No means no used to refer to actual physical actions and was always something that would 'get you into trouble', and rightly so.Now it apparently means continuing to show some interest after initial advances being rebutted. Oh the horror. But given how merely disagreeing with the PC crowd makes you automatically some sort of horrible -ist or -phobe or follower of Hitler, we shouldn't be surprised at how out of context things have become, eh?

Off topic, but I remember some crusty old fart of a politician saying something like "Of course, it was acceptable back then" on the subject of inappropriate behaviour in the workplace, and pretty much every woman's response was "Acceptable to whom?" No does not mean "yes, but only after you keep pushing".

However, I do know older women that cackle away about the "good old days" too...
As always with these things, there will be those who won't be bothered and those who are. I'm comfortable that especially in the workplace we "pander" to protect a greater range of people from feeling uncomfortable at work.

I've been on the receiving end of it, and believe me it gets old really fast. Imagine being on a mailing list that you never signed up for and that all attempts to unsubscribe are ignored.
Or a child constantly asking "Are we there yet?" or "Have you changed your mind yet?"
