Just caught up watching First Aid Kit on iplayer. Those girls can sing, thought they were excellent.
Had tickets to see First Aid Kit in Halifax on Thursday evening.
Couldn't go as the wife seemed to think I was a muppet for booking a gig the night before we go on holiday.

So thanks for the reminder as I'll watch them on iplayer.

Yungblud was excellent as I expected.
Has a really good stage persona and gets the crowd involved.
Just a shame the live stream was poor.

Another artist that performed but isn't being referenced is non other than the Wonderful Lilly Allen.
She joined in with Olivia Rodriguez in her act
Lilly is much overlooked in the musical world and personally I can't understand why she hasn't been given an honour such as an OBE both for her services to music and fashion .
I say jolly well done Lilly

Anyone know why Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot also isn’t on iPlayer, wonder if the Macca show will ever be available on iPlayer
No coverage whatsoever of the Acoustic Stage….rather annoying as it’s had some of the best acts incl Hothouse Flowers, The Undertones & Paul Heaton…

There’s three Heaton & Abbott songs from their set on YouTube.

It was an absolutely fking insanely brilliant show though. Repeatedly being reviewed today as possibly the greatest ever Glastonbury headliner performance.

Of course, you have a right to your opinion, even if it's wrong. wink

If PH had been around in 1969, there would have been shrugs that it wasn't Mars and complaints about the lighting, acoustics and the lyrics at the moon landings.
You're right, it's as if it's a competition to see who can be the least impressed!
Sometimes maybe, other times it's just that people have different opinions but 1 side doesn't want to listen.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss is a perfect Sunday watch. Rocky, but folky.

Krauss is sublime. Fabulous, emotive voice. And plays violin with great expression. Really impressed. Robert Plant is Robert Plant which is good enough for me. And sounding good.

Re Macca - At the Olympics we left to catch the tube after the first 5 minutes. ( A powerfully built director bought me my £2000 ticket) His first song was a downer, as his voice just wasn't there.

However on TV last night it was a joy; nostalgia, amazing songs and a good enough voice. He did justice to 'Blackbird', no easy feat.
But I see what folk say about the special guests - celebs sure, but they didn't take the event up a level, IMHO.

But, do watch Plant & Knauss.
We’re heading to Hyde Park now as RP & AK are on just before the Eagles, really looking forward to a great night

She's bloody awful, some of these ageing stars should give up the live performances.

Happy to stick my neck out, but Diana Ross is doing it right for a Sunday afternoon.
The musicians and singers are amazing, and to be fair they are carrying her a bit.

But a real feel-good vibe

edit -she's letting those backing singers go solo - they are f amazing

This thread shows that different folks have different tastes. Nothing is rubbish or bad, if you think it is, its because it doesn't match your tastes. Lets face it, I don't think "Also rans" get to play Glastonbury.

I am very please to have missed: Macartney, Plant, Ross, Eilish. They are not my cup of tea, and join Elton John, Rod Stewart and a host of others that I would pay to avoid.

I watched Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and they were ok but his voice was to far back in the sound mix meaning his vocals were too quiet - as was the lady playing the scissors hehe
I had never heard of Yungblud and I thought they sounded like a poor punk revival band. I'm of the age that remembers the Pistols, who were much better at it... However, question for the musicians among us: do you think they had a tape machine playing a backing track? The band was just a drummer and a guitarist yet I could clearly hear bass guitar and some keyboards. Or... is there some sort of computer gizmo these days that generates a bass line according to what the guitarist is playing? confused

I've never rated Macca.

Plant looked (and sounded) bored, tired & old.

Ross can't do it any more.

Eilish; Where's the beef? I suppose I'm about as far from her target demographic is it's possible to get.

I liked Wet Leg (everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves) & am listening to Elbow right now.

I'd struggle to think of a better band in this time slot. Seen them at T a couple of times & they just engender such good will & lift the mood as the evening begins.

The sound quality for Macca was poor or was that the plan because his voice isn’t what it was?

TLC miming was ste as well. I normally enjoy watching Glastonbury but this year I’ve not been into any of it. Apart from Supergrass.

Supergrass were surprisingly good.

Elbow were good - they are when they play the crowd-pleasers, a bit dull and self-indulgent at times.

Jack White is currently on 6Music.
