That's a really good film. Kenneth More, Lauren Bacall etc. Herbert Lom is particular good.

Thanks for that. Excellent little clip. I love the film, especially the end battle when the Gloucestershire Regiment turn up to aid the civilians trapped in the manor house. The ham acting by real soldiers is hilarious. Like an Ealing comedy.

North-West Frontier is set in the days of Indian Independence and the brutal fighting between Muslims and Hindus. More is charged with rescuing a "loyal" princeling from a besieged castle and taking him to safety. It's great "Boys Own" stuff with fine acting by Victoria the ancient wheezing steam locomotive. (Not train - train is the entire equipage - the "train" at the front is a locomotive). The horrific carnage of that period in India's history is hard to believe. Makes Northern Ireland look like a tea party.

Well, i'm not sure is this must see for you guys, but finnish war drama Unknown Soldier has been released in the UK. It based on old finnish book and it is well made.

One of my favourite films. I always watch it near Christmas, no idea why. Fantastic film. Created so many lines and catchphrases.

I think this was Caine's first major film role. He had to assume a "posh" accent which he did pretty well considering his lowly social background.
