Well then...
If they have definitely canned it and aren't going to recommission it, then there's a hell of a lot of loose ends left.
One more season (or even a final swansong finale) would tie up exactly who is behind it, who the military types are (are they the PMC from Afghanistan?) who activated the machine, what happened to Benford (did he make it out alive), why the lesbian bird was kidnapped, and by whom...
It was a decent ending I thought, but it leaves too many loose ends...

Exactly as I'd feared. Cracking episode, but rubbish last ever episode! Can't help feeling like it's been a waste of 20-something hours...
Having said that, still quite pleased it's not going to be another Lost, even though that was the writers' intention. What was the date of the 2nd Flashforward? Think it was flashed on screen but I missed it, although guessing it was 5 or 6 years ahead based on how old 'Charley' looked.

It was a date in 2011 IIRC. No doubt in that series there would have been a build up to an event in 2012, and so onHaving said that, still quite pleased it's not going to be another Lost, even though that was the writers' intention. 2015 was quickly flashed up at the end.
Good job it's finished - I'll be far too old for that kind of excitement by then!Girlfriend has got the book to read on holiday next week, and am hoping that the TV series was based very very closely on it, and that it will answer some of the questions! Not holding my breath though...!

I'm hoping that just because ABC canned it, maybe another Network will pick it up....though it looks highly unlikely.
Cracking episode last night. Definately left more questions than answers
Would have been the perfect way to leave it open for the next season.
I think ended that way because they thought there was going to be another season.Cracking episode last night. Definately left more questions than answers

The book is vastly different from the TV series. Really, only the basic concept is the same (and some of the names!). It certainly won't answer any of the unanswered questions in the TV series.I won't say anything about the book plot, wouldn't want to spoil it, but IMHO the book is good in its own right: in fact, having seen the end of the TV series (such as it was) I'd say the book was better.
