As for that Dot Cottan, thought she'd died in Eastenders.
(Sorry, haven't watched the previous series of this tosh.

And following my comment a day or so ago about a police car with an "I" in the reg, the final episode appeared to have a RR with a "Q" in the last three letters.

We have been away so caught up on the last 2 episodes last night.

It felt to me as though the final episode was hastily re-written once the bbc realised the popularity meant there was another season in the offing.

So rather than a final episode in which the top man/woman was unveiled it was changed to leave this still hanging.

Also the additional lines of "I am appealing my forced retirement" was a clumsy way of opening up a regroup of the team for one final push.

But still, better than most of the general rubbish on.

It was always penciled in for one more series, no?

Although I may have got confused with Peaky Blinders talk which is surely due to conclude.

No confirmation either way yet. They've been hinting that this may have been due to be the final series, but nothing confirmed. Obviously keeping it open, but nothing signed yet.

I think they milked the conspiracy/4th man/H thing way too much. The series in my opinion would be better served with some unrelated story lines that don't have Ted Hastings banging on about all the above every ten minutes. They could certainly run a fair few more seasons if they don't keep running a tired script that has played out way too long.

Just watched the finale of The Mandalorian on you tube again, it popped up as a recommended video, and you sit there thinking 'thats how you shock and awe your audience' - hair raising, scintilating, brilliant. But how utterly utterly woeful was the finale of LoD. Its like they set out to leave a trail of clues leading everyone to think it could be one of three or four characters, along with so much to convince us it couldnt be him, then it was like 'haha we got you'

No

You simply wrote a terrible lazy ending which A means you bleed another series out of it and B you dont respect your audience. Simply, awful.

The Line of Duty ending was perfect – you just don’t know it yet

Sort of sums my feelings up about it actually.

Cant read the link as dont have a sub but have a read an odd article here or there saying its very clever, but I think its just 'look at me writing something that doesn't comply with consensus and seeking attention'

Why is Ted Hastings a superintendent and therefore always in uniform, whereas everyone else in AC is a detective and thus in plain clothes?

I was listening r1 and they were discussing Jed's response to the furore. Which was essentially it wasn't as bad as SM is making out. It's audience score was only 7 points below the previous lowest scoring episode.

So there you go. Not that bad at all apparently! biggrin

I assume that's out of a possible ten?
