A very good start to the final series but suspect it won’t be a happy ending for Sgt Catherine Cawood.

Agreed.

Great script, brilliantly acted. The teacher assaulting his wife over the pills in particular, was extremely harrowing and uncomfortable viewing.

Article in the local paper, talking to Rhys Connah, who plays Ryan, about James Norton ' He's nice as anything in the filming breaks, then just turns into this psychopath when acting.

It is indeed excellent. I was concerned that a third series would not be as good but it certainly is.

I think it’s telling that there wasn’t one post on this thread during tonight’s episode.

Watched the first episode of the new series , and has already been said , very difficult to follow dialogue as it is ether blotted out by background music or mumbled. Last nights , I gave up after half an hour whilst OH was watching, still missing large sections of mumbled dialogue , and resorted to patience on my tablet , or catching up on latest posts on PH .

No audio issues for us… gripping story, building nicely - you know bad things are going to be coming soon.

I loved the football coach's reaction when SL arrived in the headmaster's office in her full uniform. I hope he comes to a sticky end. Nasty piece!

As a local we had a little chuckle when they parked up in "Sheffield". The street they parked on was actually in Halifax near the cinema. My wife said "you can never get in on there".

Thought it was okay, a bit far fetched that the PE Teacher with a couple of kids and drug addicted housewife was driving about in the RS though!
I immediately thought that, no way a PE Teacher is rocking that without something dodgy going on (or rich parents). Think there's more revelations to come with him.

The wife did say to the pharmacist that she'd told her husband who supplied the pills and the next thing the drug dealers are rocking up at the pharmacy mob handed to threaten him. She could've been full of crap of course as she wants money from him too.

Maybe the PE teacher is a dealer higher up the chain?

In the first episode the pharmacist had a conversation with one of his Methadone patients about the illicit supplies of drugs. Patient described him as a “lifesaver” or some such and said he’d been spreading the word about him supplying drugs off prescription. Someone presumably told the heavies.
It’s getting dafter.

I did wonder what Sheffield Prison was going to look like on screen, given it has been nearly two centuries since one existed.

I think the RS4 is just trying to paint a picture of him being a flash git and a bit of a tosser as opposed to him being involved in anything illegal.

I read somewhere that the cafe they went to after parking in 'Sheffield' was in Bolton.

And the Inside of the Jail is Shrewsbury which seems to get used for pretty much all Prison scenes nowadays, don't know what they'll do when it's converted into flats like they say it will be!

I've just done a tour around Lancaster prison, (It closed around 2011....The Lancashire police museum is there) and it was exactly like in the programme.

Off topic, if you ever get the chance visit Bodmin jail......fascinating.

Probably use Kilmainham in Dublin, as in the original Italian Job movie
