Now it apparently means continuing to show some interest after initial advances being rebutted. Oh the horror.
I've been on the receiving end of it, and believe me it gets old really fast.

Imagine being on a mailing list that you never signed up for and that all attempts to unsubscribe are ignored.

Or a child constantly asking "Are we there yet?" or "Have you changed your mind yet?"
Not a dig at CC, but any chance we can get back On Topic?

Book 5 was one of my least favourite in the series, so I'm interested to see if bringing it to the screen changes my opinion.

Gonna go back and give this a go. I switched off because of the use of the word belter which caused my mrs and I to dissolve into fits of immature laughter every time it was uttered. Rather pathetic, but we are a couple of pure belters as they say round here...

Late to the party but I've watched the first two episodes of S1 this weekend. Big Babylon 5 fan, so instantly liking the prejudice, class issues, corruption and nods to space physics.

Still haven't seen a Martian, so at this point I'm led to believe they're super militarized types to be avoided. Looking forward to seeing the cultural reveals as much as I am to following the conspiriacies.

No spoilers, but you have seen a Martian! Not the coolest Martian though...

Enjoy - it's bloody great.

She's not in S1 though is she.
The other main Martian is in it from day one.

I've watched the first three episodes. It just feels listless and a mash/jumble.

I can't offer praise. I'm 3 in and struggling with flow or make sense of it.

You should definitely give ep 4 a go before giving up, the stakes rise considerably and a lot of people say it's the episode that got them hooked.

If you still don't like it after that then fair enough....

I was hooked from the start mind you....

Will do. You know that feeling when you start off full of hope, then start questioning your time investment in a series.

I'd also add that you're supposed to be a bit confused in the beginning, it explains stuff gradually and subtly over the season without resorting to too many exposition dumps..
making you feel clever for figuring it out when it's actually the writers who were clever for doing it like that...

Then it does it all again...

It took me a wee while to get into it so maybe worth a couple more

Sorry, lost track of books vs series vs who's in what, you're correct, Bobbie doesn't show her face until Book 2 / Series 2.

It has a huge universe to set up and explain so it takes a few episodes but IMO defiantly worth it.

Can I just apologise to Hugo please. I thought he just helicoptered in to say "Well I watched 3 episodes ages ago and it was crap" which is why I reacted how I did. I can now see it was actually "I just started and I think I am missing something".

So, sorry about that.

As others have said, stick with it a little longer. And if it still doesn't work out then maybe it isn't your thing.
