Very good.

They obviously plan a big reveal. I think it will most likely be someone from the MCU. But I like the idea of bringing in someone from the X-men.
Hank McCoy is a good call. He was always a mutant, long before he became blue and furry. It would be good to see him living his life as a normal guy.

It could even be someone from the Fantastic Four. Have there been any rumours of the FF coming to Disney+ ? No, don’t tell me, I’ll wait to see what happens.

My money was on Reed Richards. But I’ve just been reading that the foreign language subtitles use the female form of “engineer”!

So perhaps Shuri, or Riri Williams (the character who becomes Ironheart, which will be another MCU TV series.

Another great episode and was gutted it ended when it did.

Loved the Kick Ass 2 reference for both Quicksilver actors and had lots of Easter eggs to nerd out over.

Wanda looked hot as fook in that og Scarlet Witch outfit.

looks like it's not going to be an X-Men crossover though as they showed QS dead with bullet holes for a second, so its MCU QS but with Fox QS face.

Wondering who this engineer will be though and was hoping they were going to show him at the end.

It also put to bed Agnes being Agatha Harkness and just another resident.

Hopefully get to see what Haywards master plan next episode.

I think Wanda could be kicking off the mutant gene thing. D'Arcy mentions that Rambeau shouldn't go back in as here cellular structure is being changed from her previous visits. Makes me think xmen/mutants could still happen.

More obviously: her children were born with their powers.

Genuinely I’m trying to like it, I really am, but I’m finding it rubbish. Convince me otherwise, please!

I watched the Jeremy Jahns video after watching the episode. He had an idea that's probably a reach but with the crossover and multiverse stuff going on...

Kathryn Hahn (Agnes the neighbour) also did the voice of Doc Ock in Spiderman Into The Spiderverse. Spiderman 3 and Doctor Strange 2 are going multiverse... It's a bit of a stretch just because it's Kathryn Hahn playing both characters and one of them is animated, but it's a fun one https://youtu.be/obJuw7iRJhU

The episode was great though, loved the Malcolm In The Middle setup for the sitcom smile .

I figure the next time we see the Fantastic Four they will all have a skill set that justifies their being part of Reed Richard’s prototype space flight. So it could be Sue Storm. But probably not.

Now that most of Sword got sucked into the Hex including D'Arcy.
It would be amazing if the Hex version of D'Arcy becomes a waitress and they give her a nod to her character from 2 Broke Girls

They need to credit all the translation and localisation staff for just about every country they dub it into or provide subtitles for.

Also I just realised. They said the series would be about six hours worth. We just had Episode 6 of 30 minutes each. We could be in line for a movie length finalé.

Very fun! The best comedy so far (QS is totes hilars), and then a gritty ending. The Incredibles references were fabulous. My daughter and I were yelling "No capes!" in Edna Mode's voice. Note that The Incredibles, which is about a super powered couple with super powered children, is also the only Fantastic Four movie that is any good (and the Fantastic Four are now back in Marvel's hands).

Re the comment above above QS not being Fox QS but Marvel QS with a different face, I am not sure, because QS says that he remembers things differently from Wanda, so he might be from another universe.

I am not yet convinced that Agnes is just another victim of the Wandahex.

I am an old perv, and a Scarlet Witch fan since the 70s, so I did indeed have a pervfest when Wanda appeared in the costume.

The yoghurt advert was freaky!

The TV Tropes entry for this episode is a hoot.

They don’t need to credit them really though, do they... They could produce localised credits for each region / country quite easily, if they could be bothered.

Best explanation of what's happening in it that I have found especially with QuickSilver:

Is this a clever pun on emperors new clothes, what with closes being in suburbia and all? biggrin

I wouldn’t say it’s st - I’ve changed my position now it’s moved on from just being a sitcom pastiche. The problem is it (so far) seems to be 1-2 hours of plot stretched out over 6 (assuming earlier comments about it being six hours are correct).

The first three episodes to establish the setting could have been done in one 30-40 minute one, for example... Set it in the sitcom world, allow it to get a little weird, introduce the outside world. Episodes 4 and 5 could also be combined into a similarly long episode.

A fan with time, editing software, and a reckless disregard for being sued by Disney could recut this (once all episodes are available) into something very compelling and well paced, and bung it on YouTube. It wouldn’t be nearly as long though (4 episodes, I’d guess) and one of the aims of this is presumably to keep people subscribed to Disney+ by stringing things out as long as possible.

ETA: what I mean by this is that the ideas, characters, etc. are good - the pacing of it is the problem. Each episode gives you ~15 minutes of drama, ignoring the credits, and that’s not much time for anything to happen in a given episode. As a result, to me it feels slow - I suppose binge watching might fix some of this.

I seems to remember Johnathan Ross reviewing The Incredibles in the film program and doing a good job of explaining how close they are to the FF.

I agree with you on Agnes. But if I try to guess anything I’m sure I will just be proved wrong.

Re Quicksilver: I seem to be the only one who much preferred the Aaron Taylor Johnson version. The X-men version was fun, but I didn’t “believe” the character, if you know what I mean. He would steal each scene he was in but didn’t fit the film. Ironically that works in the sitcom context. The guest star that appears to entertain everyone for an episode or two.

Edit:
I’m guessing you’re referring to the late ‘70s when Scarlet Witch was drawn by George Perez. Designed specifically to awaken something in adolescent boys.

I became obsessed with the Scarlet Witch in the mid 70s, when the costume was still mildly frumpy, but the late 70s and early 80s versions were indeed much more obviously teenage boy friendly.

The way Wanda says "Kick Ass" felt like she was vaguely familiar with the name. Is Wanda breaking the 4th wall like Deadpool or was it just the writers having a joke?
