Game of Thrones - vol II - NO SPOILERS
Discussion
It's very easy to call someone a stupid **** for posting a spoiler, which obviously they shouldn't....
But coming on the GOT thread between it airing all over the world and it airing in the UK is just as stupid. It was on in America last night, it was on in the U.K. at 2am, it was on in Australia 12 hours ago, it was on in parts of Europe hours ago. We are the last country in the WORLD to see it at its allotted time.....
Come one here at 8.30 what are you looking for? What do you need to read about GoT an hour and a half before it airs.....?

I enjoyed it but it's all getting a bit hollywood. Red Shirts, variable time/distance equations, last minute escapes/rescues.
Who gets the plot prediction award this week regarding dragons?

Thinking it through - and this is purely conjecture...
We've seen the Hollywood-isation this series. The biggest problem are the dragons.
Just as Jaime and Cersei have realised that they're fked, equally those millions of marching dead are nothing. Three dragons can just sweep up and down and immolate them. Even if the white walkers are immune to fire, the Wights aren't - so then you'd only have to battle a couple of dozen WW with valerian steel and obsidian.
Going by Bran's warged ravens, the army is still quite far north of the wall. How on earth are any going to escape?
I think we're going to see Dany flying to the rescue, and I believe a dragon will be killed. We've had two 'near deaths' for drogon...
Resurrect a dragon, and the army of the dead is a lot scarier...
It's Game of Ultron now.

I don't come in the thread until I've watched it. I watched it on catch up before it was on 'live'. I then came in here to see that tt had spoilered well before the 'live' UK showing. But coming on the GOT thread between it airing all over the world and it airing in the UK is just as stupid. It didn't cause me a problem, because I'd watched the show by then, but he's still a tt for doing it.

I'll just remind you of the thread title - Game of Thrones - vol II - NO SPOILERS
Anyway, it's now gone all Hollywood. One unbelievable thing happening at the end, maybe, but several, one after the other?

Just seen an interesting theory:
When Bran's ravens saw the undead army, they appear to be surrounding the same lake/island that the Avengers were trapped on.
Supporting the theory the NK is a greenseer and can see the future.
In which case, there's a plausibility to why the undead waited an entire afternoon and evening without attacking - he was waiting for the dragons to show up. Possibly also explaining the chains.
However, all this falls apart when you consider that he could have taken out not only a dragon (and the biggest one at that) but also fked his only human opposition by then throwing in his army to mop them up on the ground... Instead of taking aim for a flying one further away...

I can solve that last one for you. Do NOT delve beyond this post if sensitive. When Bran's ravens saw the undead army, they appear to be surrounding the same lake/island that the Avengers were trapped on.

So the Nights King is a former Olympic javelin gold medalist and Gendry was the first person to take part in an Arctic Ultra Marathon. We won't get into the speed of Ravens or even the homing capabilities of Dragons. Or maybe GRRM equipped them all with their own little Tom Toms.
Yes, it just didn't seem realistic, Dragons in my experience just get lost, I have had to get mine chipped, it is quite often someone from three streets away rings me to say "Smeg has turned up again and vaporised my patio set, can you come and get him".I think we just need to not analyse what is a rather marvellous bit of fantasy nonsense too deeply.
Ravens = whatsapp
I just thought DT just got the message and kind of knew where to go, I thought that they hadn't gone that far and he was travelling several times faster and avoided diversions.
Wonder what the crushing speed of a dragon is and what kind of G it can pull, DT must have strong thighs to hang on, looks like she may need them again soon enough

Nice to see Preston's good work being spread around. He doesn't even look at the current eps from a book perspective (there is no pint but his books theories are amazing), he just looks at the eps from a series point, and it's so easy to see how the series ignores itself, it's been doing it for the past three seasons. Tyrion utterly changed the chat remembering how he and Reek last chatted.I do still love the show...but it has gotten extremely silly, especially the LUwin letter thing.
But, good points; Hound...although he seems to be a one gag line man man though
Seeing wights drop after a WW falls....so it's not just the NK who resurrects.....but then Beric kept going once Thoros died....
Beric had a good line with Jon about them not finding what they want...or something...which made me think, both of these are dead. But then Jon had breath after the ice lake...I suppose he could have some heatb from movement...and really, he should be dead, which made me think, he isn't 'alive' with a beating heart like others....if Beric drops down mid battle or something soon, maybe Jon will eventually drop of Mel is killed.
But yeah, Wolverine needs to die, ffs those scenes were horrible and like first takes.
