Not all of Chris's cars are/were white not counting the original black California and the new yellow California seen on the show. There was also this - http://www.williamloughran.co.uk/usedcar/Ferrari-4...

Not going to overly get my knickers in a twist, but did anyone else notice the footage of Kimi's lap was 'spliced' together. He drives two lianas, both with the same number plate, but the passenger seat changes from standard, to aftermarket sports, and vice versa, quite a few times.

I assume he did a few laps, they recorded one as the best time, then spliced footage together to make it more entertaining.

Thought an F1 driver would just jump in do a couple of laps and that would be it, maybe one car does the lap while the other is set up to be a little more camera friendly.

Let's face it, he is so inordinately and stupefyingly dull that they must have struggled to get anything watchable at all.

The camera team (either in terms of people or cameras or both) isn't big enough to cover a whole lap in one go is the main reason I think. So they film some of the corners for a couple of laps then move round to the other corners then splice the lot together to give footage at each corner/camera point.

The actual time is either the best time they set on the day (in one lap) or the time on the last lap after a couple of warm up laps (not sure which system they use now as I think they've used both at different points).

I think the problem they have is a lack of cameras, so they film everything- practice and the actual timed lap- from different points, and edit them together.

Don't get me wrong chaps, I'm genuinely not really that fussed - and yes, the camera (or lack of) justification sounds the most plausible. Just found it interesting and wondered if anyone else had noticed it or was it me going mad!

Just watched the rallycross bit, loved it! biggrin

Is there any way of checking where you are placed on the tickets to be in the audience list? Seems like I applied about 5 years ago, perhaps even more.

I missed episode 6 (with the Morgan 3 wheeler) and annoyingly it seems to be the only one I can't find on iplayer. Anyone know why it's not on there?

What, Kimi? I thought he was brilliant. The Finns are just different from us, that's all.

I applaud Kimi for his "not give a tinker's cuss" approach. He could conform and be boring turning up in the corporate gear like a walking billboard, but no, even the the cap was plain. Individualistic.

Everyone knew at Malaysian 2009 that when the heavens opened and it was getting darker and darker that nothing more would happen. All the others like the little clones they were sat out there and got wet and miserable waiting for someone to make a decision.

Kimi only one to make a decision, back to pits, out of overalls, into civvies, Magnum and a Coca Cola. Spot on.

I altered our dress code by resolutely refusing to conform in a certain matter, sense has been seen and code changed.

Not a Kimi fan boy by any stretch, but bow

Kimi has a huge fan base, and rightly so, he's living legend.

Far FAR from being dull, Kimi was brilliant. Funny guy, they cut a lot of good stuff out of the interview.

He's a non conformer and I like that.

Quiet does not equal dull.

Indeed. And if even half the stories about him are true he's anything but dull. I very much doubt he got that scar by drinking cocoa and doing The Times crossword. smile
