It's turning into a fine comedy show now.
The 20 mins of dicking about before and after spoils it.
The test drive faff at the end is almost as long as the actual repairing of the car.

Tend to switch off once it gets to that now - unless its something I find interesting.

Felt like there was a bit of filler this week - but to be fair the heater matrix bit was good to see. I do think Mike does "champion" a few of these specialist services/refurbishers well - one kind of assumes these days these things are just pulled of a shelf in a warehouse after being manufactured elsewhere.

Some of the work these specialists put out is very good, last week with the refinish on the steering wheel for example.

Also, pulling apart the choke mechanism to show how that function was interesting to see too. Sometimes how simple these mechanisms are pre-electrics and sensors doing that job.

Worst one of those was a Capri they did in the USA Ant series , ragging it around some deserted film lot ,it was just sad .

I see Mike's mountain bike had some electrical assistance, which they tried not to show

There are plenty of "Mike Brewer shaped" mountain bikers out on the trails... wink

And a saddle that looked like it had come from a Boris bike

Some of Mikes ‘heading up to Scotland’ footage was of Glen Shee ski centre, yet the dealer was south of Edinburgh.

Anyone would think this show was merely for entertainment purposes.

Oh god his soldering is as bad as his welding smile

Switched it off for the Italian racetrack sequence just not interested.

Bought new did 40k miles needed new engine and gearbox, did another 40k and the crankshaft pulley was goosed, hardly a glowing example of Italian cars.

Will get tin hat for the following slagging from Alfa owners, not my cup of tea but I suppose a Merc is not theirs.

What would I rather own? A Merc or an Alfa? Head says Merc, heart says Alfa.
I’ve actually owned neither and dare say I never will now.

I have had five Alfas, my current one being a 2008 GT with 123,000 miles, which I have owned since 2017. It is probably the nicest car I have owned (plenty of BMW's and Fords before).

The Alfa's bonnet was peppered with stonechips when they bought it but they had all mysteriously disappeared at the end with no mention of a respray or in the costings .....and yet £1,000 for new wheels and tyres seemed excessive, could get a set of wheels refurbed for £300

I thought that too but not sure if a wash and polish cleaned it up, could not make up my mind whether it was stone chips or just dirty?

Must watch this one, he got a bargain buying any 916 V6 for 2K..

As an aside Mike actually turned down (after much deliberation apparently) the Alfa 916 Spider I've now got for a Wheeler Dealers episode a few years ago (while filming the Maserati 3200 episode) while it was sat unloved at an Italian Indy. They decided it wasn't economically viable in the end.

I subsequently bought it and yep Mike was probably right, car turned out really nicely in the end but took 5 years of my time to do it plus a lot more cash than I'll admit to.....

One of the Italians was called Gordon de Adamich and I wonder if he’s related to the legendary Alfa saloon racing driver of the 60s Andrea de Adamich?
