Ok, so we now know he won't have destroyed that conscious one.
Blondie seems overly human and aggressive whilst the chap remaining with the "son" (who retains the glowing eyes) seems far less human.
Be interesting to discover more about the cop too and where she came from etc.
Good show this.

I was wondering if the conscious synths represent parts of the human psyche. When they are brought together the secret code will unlock a full 'human' personality. Blondie seems overly human and aggressive whilst the chap remaining with the "son" (who retains the glowing eyes) seems far less human.

This was my thought also... given that Leo talked about getting the 5 special synths together to disseminate that consciousness code - ie. Leo, his friend, Niska, Anita and the one that was "destroyed" (or not!) in the lab (Fred?)... she's a bit of an anomaly - or is she? Are there dozens / hundreds / thousands of synths out there pretending to be human?Good show this.

Good episode last night, I'd go with the sex toy angle too.
I may have missed a bit...but why was the disclosure about the 18+ setting being triggered printed in a bloody great manual - have they had this done since the 'event'? To be clear, how do they know the service has been used?
And how is it different to husband shagging the Dyson? Or any other white goods?
Scarily, the murderous former sex-worker dolly is now reminding me of my sister in law - it's the blonde fringe and slightly too rational thought processes (s-i-l is a bank auditor so pretty close to drone existence).

That was the download of her operational status when they had her examined. And how is it different to husband shagging the Dyson? Or any other white goods?

Anyone else have the arguement on whether shagging Anita is cheating or not? lol
I followed the sex toy angle. Mrs didnt.
Mrs Garyhun said it was cheating, even after I told her I'd have no issues if she wanted to 'have a go' on a male version I followed the sex toy angle. Mrs didnt.

That's exactly how it panned out in my house too. Apparently you cannot equate a vibrator to a sexy-female robot.
Exactly its basically a vibrator with legs. Have to say, really enjoying the subtle performance of the killer synth, she is brilliant.

Also seemed odd that Vera (carer 'dolly') did not divulge that Niska was a synth. I know she was told that it was a mistake but I thought that she still would have said something.
Her positron brain (whatever) is literal and works in absolutes, they don't have alliteration or maybes, logically the killer model would have to share, since she doesn't, she can't be a synth, backed up by a human sentence....also it's a possibility that the Evil Carer is ferreting info back to Synth HQ, no need for the worst copper in the history of television to know anything.GarryDK said:

Indeed...very BSG, at last a show to compete with the imports.Blondie seems overly human and aggressive whilst the chap remaining with the "son" (who retains the glowing eyes) seems far less human.

I said EXACTLY that but was told its not the "looks" of the vibrator turning you on as you can't actually see it when its in use its just a 'tool' to achieve an end like a screwdriver in putting up a shelf. Women are merely 'using' the screwdriver but men are actually sexually attracted to the shelf - ergo "Cheating".mudflaps said:

Is the Coppers wife using Adult mode with her helper? Do the male synths have a penis? So many questions
That was my question before. If they are helper synths then there would be no need to have erroneous parts like a willy as it is not part of their main function.I don't buy a dishwasher that has a fleshlight attached 'just in case'. So why would you order a dolly (as they call it) with human parts if it is purchased just for doing the dishes.
If that was the case then this is the question you would need to be asked at point of purchase.

STRONG AI requires a lot more than just faster processor chips, more storage and a large database. It requires huge advancement in many areas including a fundamental understanding of how the brain works which we are nowhere close to yet.
I think it's more likely that AI research will provide a better understanding of the nature of consciousness than vice-versa.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
