Pretty much. Telling that this thread is dying of apathy. I watched the latest and couldn't really think of much positive to say, so left it.

This weeks was horrific. It was pretty much angst and "lets talk it out" for the entire episode.

This is not any kind of Star Trek I can recognise.

Agreed...

I was actually watching it thinking "I wish TNG or DS9 had had the SFX they have now - they would be really something". Maybe that will be Strange New Worlds next year. Bloody hope so.

I keep hoping it cuts to Avery Brooks waking up in a sweat saying "that was a horrible bad dream" then him going into Quarks for a Raktajino.

The one bit of good news was that

Tilly left to teach at the Academy, God help them, as this is what she realised her calling to be. The big surprise was when she mentioned she had pursued her career on the basis that it was a fast track to the captain's chair. SERIOUSLY...Tilly. Captain of a starship. Dear God.

I'm astonished that in the 32nd century (or whenever it is supposed to be) they still haven't found a cure for obesity.

Because in new Trek, everyone is "beautiful" and nobody is "imperfect".

Probably.

Can you imagine anyone suggesting Tilly should really think about dieting for health reasons...10 part mini series spin off, right there... rolleyes

Just watched the latest episode of Discovery, and TBH not bothered it’s not on Netflix, most unlike Star Trek series ever, no loss whatsoever in my opinion.

It's as you'd expect.

Discovery's main computer, self named Zora (who's been a pretty good computer core up till now) develops feelings and feels overwhelmed. Zora has a bit of bad luck and loses a crew member, causing a crisis of confidence and refuses to operate the ship anymore. But with the help of Michael Burnham, who gives a pep talk on how to be a good computer core again, Zora turns it around and saves the crew....

Discovery is taking a mid season break on Paramount+

With Lt. Tilly gone, I'd hoped things would be picking up but now the computer's gone all time of the month, I don't see me going back to it.

Big hopes for Brave New Worlds with Anson Mount but we shall see
