Looking forward to that Harry/Smith vid two of the finest chaps on the platform.

I'm also a bit of a latecomer to the Smith and Sniff podcast they are pretty funny and love some of the obscure references that crop up.

Late brake show doesn't get all too much of a mention on this thread but I think it's a pretty solid channel that's getting better all the time.

The podcast is great. The rabbit holes they get drawn down it fantastic, and random references do make me chuckle

Dannydc2's recent racing vid is just brilliant, down to earth humour and exciting racing, there really isn't anything else out there quite like it.

The MR2 takes an impressive amount of abuse, and Kevin's DC5 is a serious car (excellent driver too).

Love it.

HeavyDSparks, mainly heavy truck recovery and boat salvaging has just bought himself an ex US Army Blackhawk helicopter to add to his recovery and rescue fleet.

I'm not sure any of the auto YouTubers can possibly top that one.

Yes, I enjoyed that as well.

I’ve also been watching Dan Lloyd’s channel (British Touring Car Championship racing driver) -

The channel’s only been going for a few months, but it looks promising. Not so much racing footage - probably restricted in what he can show - but more an insight into the life of a racing driver.

I’d like to see him do a collaboration with DannyDC2 - I’m sure he would find going behind the scenes at a BTCC event interesting, and Dan might get a few more subscribers.

I've seen other people buying Blackhawks, cheap for what they are but the lack of civil certification makes actually using them incredibly restricted.

He's discussed that in the video and mentioned reams of paperwork, a PMI service at $2m, and the extra FAA certification that he has to undergo himself to fly it.
And a colour change. Because YouTube.

It's going to take the buy/spec/deliver/wrap/road trip/sell type of content into another level.

The viewing figures for some of the US "niche" channels like this, demolition ranch, Weston Champion, and whistling diesel can rack up are unreal. Just from following them for a few years and seeing the massive changes in their lifestyles and social presence shows the scale of the YouTube earnings and associated paid promotions and merch salesb in the USA.

And they're not even the A-list YouTube glitterati -

I can certainly see the appeal for tyres Jon to relocate out there!

Urban explorers don't force entry, it's pretty much rule number 2 after don't steal st

The current wave of 'explorers' on YouTube are just clout chasing not true explorers (from a grumpy old school explorer)
The rules don't really make much difference between smashing a window and good old fashioned trespassing to be fair - in brief, if you're somewhere you don't have permission to be YT will now take that into consideration, even if no harm done
Which is a shame as some of the explorer content is very well made and interesting. In fact I don't think I've ever seen anyone breaking in anywhere or doing anything I think is wrong.

I recall the 'peado hunters' used to be all over YT, now they are almost non-existent because YT got nervous. There's one I've been watching (People v Preds) in the US but I am pretty sure I never see ads on it so assume YT won't monetise it.

"Urban explorers" came onto our property, forced entry into outbuildings, rummaged through personal belongings and staged photos. Worst of was they damaged my dad's 1927 vintage car and intimidated him when they were discovered. This all then ended up splashed across Instagram, Facebook, 28 days later etc. All the comments were asking where this was and location details...

They ended up talking to the police and we are now extensively covered by CCTV.

I'm told this shouldn't happen and these aren't "proper" urban explorers, that damage should never happen, though if it's all above board then why not ask consent of the property owners first...

I know they are out there on YouTube but it's disappointing to see the likes of the late brake show and car throttle etc encouraging this type of behaviour.

I've seen sites visited by popular urbexers and although they don't directly disclose the location its soon discussed within the comments section. A site visited by the bearded explorer shortly got turned over and valuable cars stripped to bits...

From someone with direct experience on the other side of urban exploring it's an extremely welcome decision from YouTube.

I did laugh when Harry said he has to censor them with post it notes so Youtube does not have a hissy fit.

Not just you, had to whack up the volume, then when the adverts cut in deafened me biggrin

The colouring is out too, all the reds look really over-exposed.

That all said, the content was good, and that’s the important thing.
