13 Hours, the secret soldiers of Benghazi. A film I had missed when it came out a few years ago. The story of the siege on two US sites in Benghazi in 2012. Apparently takes a lot of artistic licence but nonetheless, a really well made modern war film.

I'm not sure how much "licence" its taking really. It got dragged into the political arena as Hillary Clinton was one of those blamed (by others) for what happened but i'm not sure if the movie even mentions her by name.

Whenever I watch a "based on a true" story movie I always like to try and investigate it to see what really happened. On a casual viewing this sticks reasonably close to the facts and what happened. Some of the controversy around who said what to whom relates to conversations where one party to the conversation died, so cannot really be proven one way or the other.

I think this is likely as accurate as Hollywood will get. Certainly seems more accurate than the likes of "Lone survivor" which had a made up ending. Most of the criticism comes from a political perspective in my view and certainly many of the attacks on the movie came from left leaning publications during an election year. Leave your politics at the door and follow the very tense and gripping story.

Fat Tony and Co - 'based' on the true story of some Australian drug dealers, similar to Underbelly and uses most of the same actors.

Disengage brain and watch.

Nicolas On Holiday (Le Petit Nicolas En Vacance).

Sickly sweet French farce, part kids film, part adult, a few familiar faces, Baron Noir, Inspector Montalbano.

Quelle Amusant!

Just watched the first episode of season 6 of fear the walking dead. Superb, so much better than the main show now. Morgans character keeps getting better.

Must give that a try, love zombie movies and the first few walking dead series but lost interest around season 6

Started on the U.K. version of Utopia, big fan of this show, beautiful cinematography, pretty extreme and very weird at times, great stuff.

The American one just seems completely bland in comparison, I guess the original was a bit too extreme.

Is that free with Prime now, or is it still £18?

I watched undone in one sitting (8 episodes, 24 mins each). Pretty decent story and concept, worth a watch. Trailer can be watched here to see if it's up your street, I quite like time warping things, so enjoyed it,

I've not watched the American version for this very reason. The UK version was very strange (in a good way!), very dark and quite brutal and generally American remakes are very watered down, and the very thing that makes a good show has been left out.

Watched it last night. Was good, but I didn't believe Cooper's story-arc. Didn't think they really captured an emotional downward spiral, it was just set-pieces of him being drunk. Then getting clean, then being tipped over the-edge by the words of a bloke he didn't particularly like. The end result didn't pack an emotional punch for me.

Rhythm Section. Pretty good all in all, even Mrs A said she enjoyed it, which surprised me as she's into Yoga and eating Lentils.

Godfather of Harlem with the excellent Forest Whitaker playing Bumpy Johnson. Great music, good cast, only watched one episode but really like this.
Yep, I'm two in now and it's very good.

It's got a Boardwalk Empire vibe to it (which is a good thing). FW is excellent as you say. Not sure if he's the right person to carry off some of the violence (whereas Nucky Thompson/Steve Buscemi always got the henchmen to do the dirty work). Not quite RDN in The Irishmen, but uncomfortably close.

I think FW has carried over the Vic Mackay's love interest type storyline from The Shield, which again is a good thing.

Oh and Ilfenesh Hadera and Lucy Fry cloud9

I watched The Programme about Lance Armstrong the other night.

It was entertaining enough, although who knows how true it all was.

I agree, but I think its the sort of film you shouldn't really analyse too much, just enjoy the basic story and content.
