Can't say I enjoyed the one last night either.
The bit where the carer's boyfriend goes off then suddenly appears back at the very end - an almost straight copy of the Dawn & Tim storyline from The Office.
Would be good to see tinny man punching the new handyman.
And the oldies cheering ? Been done - too predictable. The bit where the carer's boyfriend goes off then suddenly appears back at the very end - an almost straight copy of the Dawn & Tim storyline from The Office.

Can't people just be useless sts without any redeeming qualities. It's closer to real life.

Like the new handyman? Of the young one's bf. There are those characters too. The one's that have redeeming qualities are the ones we like to think we'd be mates with even though they have other issues. It does seem a bit like 'shooting fish in a barrel' this series.
However the bit with 'Kev's creations' was excellent... right up until that point he was annoying the F out of me. But as Derek said 'Even Kev can surprise you when he has to'.
ETA: And the bit in the earlier episode when the banker went finishing with his grandad.

It's depressing and uplifting simultaneously.
I think that is why I like it.I'm a miserable pragmatist of sod but I love to laugh.
Only When I Laugh, Dad's Army, One Foot in the Grave.
It's like kicking yourself, having a little chuckle at life, then kicking yourself again, because why not.
The bit from the last episode I loved was the woman talking about booze. One cannot judge, life can be st sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta, roll the dice and take the chance.
Brilliant episode this week. Very moving.
There's real irrefutable logic in a lot of Derek's observations.
Waiter: They're frogs legs monsieur, they taste like chicken.
Derek: Have you got chicken?
Waiter: Oui monsieur, poullet.
Derek: Have you run out of chicken?
Waiter: Non.
Derek: Well why are you using the frogs legs that taste like chicken, when you've still got chicken?

the restaurant scene was amusing but rubbish, why would Hannah (?) book them into a fancy restaurant where they wouldn't understand the menu and have probably never tried any of the food for a first date? There's real irrefutable logic in a lot of Derek's observations.

The jokes about the frogs legs and snails were comedy 101.
Apart from that the rest was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the series.
