Watched half of the episodes so far. Really good . Just great stories and real people.
These days we are so used to seeing buff people on love island or similar. So refreshing to see real people. The chap who sold the daf is the spit of my uncle.
Derek is a diamond.
Sad to se how cars like the cosworth and mk 2 rs escort fall into disrepair. But sometimes life takes over and we have more important issues and situations.
Mumbles. Nice work!

I thought the TD21 was a steal, but the new owner has had issues. Love those cars - real class.

Hopefully not serious ones. Very elegant car

(And the weird red one was a TB14, not a Special)

There was another Alvis - a special built from a TC21/100.

Any chance of finding out what car was left in the garage of the guy who owned the corvette?

I loved the bit about the owner of the TD21 whose daughter was ashamed because her dad didn't have a "proper" car like her friends' fathers. My FiL went through a multitude of cars in his lifetime, if only he'd appeared outside the school in a TD21 instead of a 2CV my car mad son might not have had to hide his face!

Quote from Telegraph article:-

"As ever in the world of luxury, hand-built, bespoke products, if you need to enquire about the cost you probably can’t afford it. Still keen? Most of the new-old “continuation” cars will set you back from about £250,000."

That lovely Lancefield concealed hood for me please, and I don't normally like droptops.

I'm going a bit OT here, but in view of the pleasure we're all getting from this series, I thought that some of you might be interested in another series on Yesterday called History Hunters. It shows the daily workings of a father and son militaria business. It follows the same sort of format and presentation as Bangers and Cash, treating the viewer as if they've got a brain and none of the manic hyperbole we find with US-orientated programmes.

I enjoy it very much. Highly recommended. Tuesday evenings at 8pm.

The trailers haven’t grabbed me, but it sounds like it’s worth giving it a try.

I thought Derek had some very intereting opinions on the vintage/veteran car market which I agree with. The top cars will always have a following- Goodood and the like will help, but the everyday cars from 90-100 years ago really are a different world these days.

Quite right too, didn't stop to think and could have fact checked with the man himself since Martin Shaw does the VO for Warbird Workshop after B&C - which is one of our shows as well! No perm these days. Their RS had a vinyl roof I remember - liked them then, just spent time & money removing one and an '70s glass sunroof! How we change....

Hope you enjoyed ep anyway. Bit of light relief.

Thanks for appreciating David, lots of plans on hold now. Anyone recall that good Prefab Sprout song!
