He owns the "footprint" of the tower and the new bits, just not the "yard" area around it.
Ta. I missed that the footprint included the new build too...

Given the number of bedrooms in the tower (and a lift) I reckon they plan or will have to turn some rooms into a B&B / hotel to help finance it.
Wouldn't a change of use like that not be a monumental ballache with a GII listed building like that? Well, I suppose even if it were they don't seem opposed to the odd challenge, but it seems more like they'll just lend a metric farkload against it.
Good point. I was thinking back to that one where the guy built the house in two halves and a random stranger lent him £200k or so. He turned half the house into a B&B although that was a completely new build.

The guy who rebuilt the castle (Peel Tower) on the Scottish borders ended up running it as a B and B to pay the mortgage.

I just wish they had hammered home he was spending £35k a week with a bit more force. It would not have to be monotonous, they could sometimes say £5k per day for a bit of variety.

That said loving this one.

Relatively though surely? Seems silly to be undertaking something on that scale and stick a B and Q special in! Guess if you owe squillions then what's 4k!

Sure but you can bet he's going to be looking at a 2m property at the end of it so no point scrimping on fixtures and fittings?!?!

Did you miss the bit where he said 7 thousand a day!!!! smile

(This obviously assumes a 5 day working week with no weekend, overtime, etc...)

But he did say it. smile

Thinks he's financed because a property is under offer.

God loves an optimist.
