I've heard a few times on the podcast that the 4D number plates can't be picked up by the ulez cameras. Can any who has a pair of these number plates confirm, and also does it stretch to all cameras?
In theory anything that fails the automatic reading can be manually reviewed.

I'm not convinced 4D plates are any harder to read from a distance.

I'm probably alone in this view but I feel Harris has gone from being a knowledgeable yet entertaining journo into a bit of a dick. Having watched this and the Tuthill Porsche vids both are littered with unnecessary expletives which add nothing.

Shouting fk off at the digital assistant made me laugh.

Our local garage can't read them with their cameras they use to authorise the pumps.

I'm quite sweary but he's certainly swearier than me - it seems authentic though, and we're all grown up, so doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I think these podcasts are maturing nicely and I enjoyed last Fridays - genuinely funny. I thought the previous weeks moaning about SUV's was a bit ripe though, notably because, other than (ironically) the Londoner, they all own them in multi-car garages! Neil C remained hypocrisy free but tired old stereotypes about Range Rover driving Mums with single children on the school run are too basic - many families only have one car, or two at most!

I spent a day in Chris’s company back in the Drivers’ Republic days. He is very sweary in real life!

To be fair he's not the first to say that, so it was actually a legit place to shoe-horn Senna into the conversation for once biggrin

Maybe they posed that question with Manish in mind?

Definitely one of the better episodes I thought.

Listened to a few early podcasts on long drives, and watched a few of the recent ones on YouTube. Definitely enjoying them more than I expected although did skip a few earlier ones depending on the guests. It does seem the later ones are more suited to being videos as the visual content has increased. Particularly Cooper's mounted on card imagery..

I can't recall any hate for Harris on PH I recall one spat with a poster called Cmoose (IIRC), Harris took him on which I quite liked as he was a very supercilious poster that thought he knew best and would argue endlessly.
I'd forgot about that, well remembered. Quite an interesting exchange, I seem to remember Harris calling him out somewhat. Not sure if Cmoose still posts under a different name? Have enjoyed Harris' journalism from the late 90s onto being one of the first creating video content.

Not entirely sure as I was quite new to the site when CH was posting.

But I think people got a bit personal about his GT3 RS 4.0 allocation and how it was financed. Most people post a car like that on here would normally be met with a wave of kind words and enthusiasm. Pretty sure he got quite a lot of stick.

Which I can believe from the way the various financing threads go on here. He made a bit of comment on it in one of his videos at the time.

I can see how that would rub you up the wrong way.

Genuine, heartfelt statement about the end of Top Gear from Chris Harris at the end of this week pod - classy and well worded.

I'd missed that. Never realised he had been on TG for 8yrs. Thought it was half that. I've only watched a handful of episodes in that time.

That he is now full time Collecting Cars/producing old school Harris YouTube content, is music to my ears.

The Chris Evans/Matt Le Blanc years he was on TG seem to fade away quickly - that was probably three or four of those eight years.

For anyone listening on Spotify, you can listen to Chris Harris new autobiography on there as an audio book.
It's bloody brilliant.
PH gets a few mentions, not all good! But quite fair his comments I think.
