It might have room to improve but imagine the rhetoric if it gets cancelled. BRAKE, The Green Party, etc all saying that car worship has had its day and we now need more programmes about cycling and green initiatives and hemp fashion.

There has been the potential for some good ideas which have fizzled out before they've got going, the Maserati segment started out with promise but descended into cocking about like they couldn't be bothered going through with it, but it seems odd for car enthusiasts to wish death on a car show when really we should be glad to have plenty to choose from.

With the social media presence, hopefully all the people involved with the show will learn from the feedback and produce a better series next time.

Same, I gave up after the Finland one. Just checked in to see if it had improved but looks like it didn't.

I think the last one I saw was the one in Wales. Or was it Italy? I ran out of patience after that. However, after reading how enthusiastic some of you here were for the Range Rover / Bentley / Jaguar episode, I decided to give it another go. Glad I did, it was almost like a different show (but I did fast forward through the tent parts). I can only echo what others have said, in that it was almost like old TG, a show about cars, and not simply full of badly acted slapstick for under-9s. Far from perfect, but much better. Although I will still be waiting to see what the feedback is on future episodes, it does give me hope that they might actually be able to make a watchable programme.

As an aside, who, in the 1990s who would have thought we would be here in the UK, making even one car like that, let alone three of them? And not making feeble excuses for any of them. I'm not keen on the VW London Cab, but it is keeping a lot of good traditional craft people in good jobs. I was surprised at how comparatively slow the FFRR was too.

Ended on a high with probably the most well rounded episode, shame there wasn't more of a big send off with the 3 of them, or just anything with the 3 of them, no token Hammond on an Electric motorbike for example.

They actually did something in the place they were filming, and I did chuckle at the celebrity death and following part, but I really hope that's it.

Also May found his old catchphrase, I wonder if we'll see any reprucussion?

I think they've found their chemistry again...that was a very enjoyable episode. No stupid American track nonsense either.

that was a great episode.

The first time in the season where we haven't had to deal with "2 parts of the same film" and had 4 distinct bits: Golf v i3, Veyron v 918 v crazy Nissan, Winching, and Drifting. With bits of tenting in between to link it together.

I kind of hope they read what we have to say here? Facebook is full of gushing and nonsense. It's a bit like when someone posts an awful photo of themselves, and everyone tells them they look gorgeous.
It's obvious what works and what doesn't now - if the next series is anything like the last two episodes then they have a winner.

My thoughts...
Ditch the American - he's the most stupid and annoying bit.
Does the tent really need to be in other countries? - nope, not really. A waste of money.
Do they actually need a tent? Nope not really. A studio would be fine (if they're allowed to use that format?)
Just because you can swear, doesn't mean you should. There's no need.
Just be yourselves chaps and it works fine as last night proved.

+ Ditch celebrity brain crash. First few weeks it was a laugh, now tedious.

If you watch old TG episodes on Netflix, there's quite a bit of swearing on that too.

They're not. Hence the tent.

has anyone been out and bought a Datsun Van?. I couldn't help but notice it didn't look too stable despite wiping the floor with the Porsche. Another good episode looking forward to the next series.

On the whole the series has been lazy rubbish and a huge missed opportunity. The last episode showed signs of improvement though.

Overall I've enjoyed the series with the exception of episode 2. Looking forward to the next one which I presume will start in November.
