I think Sabine has been good, but agree on the other two.

So I gave up on the new TG after the first two episodes. Is it still crap?

No! It's utterly brilliant - How we ever suspected Chris Evans wouldn't lift the programme to new heights of brilliance is beyond me.

He's a total genius, turns everything he touches to TV gold.

Chris (err damn, where's the edit button?)

Bit like the curate's egg. Good in parts. Other parts risible.

A radical thought - make your own mind up.

Personally I have enjoyed it but most have not, so whether its good or not probably will not matter if it doesn't hit the required figures. My only hope is that if CE goes as is the popular call, he is replaced with someone also up beat. For me there is too much doom and gloom on TV and MLB could come across far too dull, yes it works as humour but this series has felt the brightest in ages.

I've enjoyed it. New Top Gear is better than no Top Gear and whilst it isn't as good as the old stuff, it isn't far off. Just wish they'd get rid of the bit on the sofa.

Primarily the ginger bit sitting opposite the guests.

I assumed it was an autocorrect issue... take you pick of three letter word ending in 'it'... (unless it's wit, in which case you're half right...)

I wasn't a fan of his prior work, but his energy is fantastic and he seems to be getting better at making his parts more accessible to casual viewers.

I am liking Chris Harris and Rory Read. Ditch Evans, Sabine and Jordan and that just might work quite well for me.

Plus I hate the diesel mini rallycross car - it sounds sooooo dreary.

That's exactly the kind of formula that caused Fifth Gear to fail.

There is no market for a car nerd programme on TV, it's all about light entertainment and comedy.

Reid and Harris are the awkward car nerds in what could be a successful formula. I even like Eddie. In small doses!

The one thing that 'new' TG is doing well is expanding the brand and coming up with the Extra Gear show and making internet exclusive videos with Harris to appeal to the enthusiasts in addition to the mainstream viewer.

Agreed, CE observed that people do watch TV in a different way these days. Thus they increase exposure allowing people to watch essentially the format and content they want to watch.

Are they expanding the brand, or diluting/weakening it?

Really - I would say that they are the better presenters of the group! I think they have genuinely got a decent balance
