Its funny how competitive it always is between CMH/Grand Tour and Top Gear. I watch the Grand Tour and enjoy it and I enjoyed last weeks TG (havent seen yesterday's yet). The bit with Harris running away in that dinosaur costume was literally the funniest TG moment for me, in years.

its ok to like both programmes!!

Horrendous looking thing. Reminded me a bit of the Jag 220.
Rather have the Suzuki Jimny if I’m honest. Guess I’m getting old
That Jimny looks a cracking little thing!

And free motoring if you can get one from Suzuki, was looking at one on Saturday, a year old, 2000 miles and £5k over list price. eek
Comical body roll and the boot is only just big enough to carry it's own tool kit. hehe

As ever, I enjoyed the bit when Chris Harris was talking about a car and didn't enjoy the rest of it. The car vs fighter jet race was entertaining though it would have been better if Paddy McGuinness had been given the day off when they were filming it.

For me it was last night, when they decided to "help" Paddy by driving that Range Rover past his open door.

These three may never beat the 'peak TG' (although Clarkson etc did have the advantage of doing a lot of the format for the first time), but I think these three are better than Clarkson, Hammond and May would be had they carried on and were still doing it now.

I questioned the selection of McGuinness and Flintoff, but then perhaps that's why I don't work in selecting people for TV shows.

Unsurprisingly, I loved the bit with the Rascal.

yes, I'd love a Speedtail.

Was it just the camera angle though, or was Harris almost hitting his head on the roof of it when sat down?

also, is that the first time they've mentioned a former presenter by name, actually saying "Richard Hammond did this"? Or was there a Clarkson reference last week too?

Having pretty much decided I was now 'over' Top Gear, I stumbled on this last night and was astonished to really enjoy it,. The Speedtail review was excellent, the F35 bit superb and I even enjoyed SIARFC.

And as to the Dizzy Rascal, that was classic TG - I nearly fell off the sofa laughing at the RR Sport soaking.

Very surprised. I might even tune in again next week.

Another good episode. Shame they brought back the star in a car segment, but quite like Romesh so it wasn't too bad this week.

A proper laugh out loud moment when Paddy got soaked by the Range Rover, you could tell that wasn't scripted by his genuine reaction rofl

Have to say I'd probably take a Dirty Rascal or Jimny over the Speedtail getmecoat

There was a joke about Clarkson in the bungee jumping bit, I think.

Think I'm developing a bit of a man crush on Freddie. Balls of steel last week, hard as nails this week. Hats off to the guy. I'm enjoying it for his input alone.

I think that’s a very fair appraisal. On paper I liked the new team as I think the BBC does Northern culture v Southern and middle class v working class to better effect than anyone. And all three are very good at doing what they were previously known for doing plus there is a good balance of egos. The three seem to be settling in well and producing content that’s capable of keeping a wide range of viewers entertained.

The language and humour sometimes doesn’t feel appropriate for my young girls but in reality it’s nothing they won’t hear in public and they are watching it in the company of an adult who is capable of explaining what’s appropriate and what isn’t.

I'm finding the races quite funny also.... Harris will go and set a 'good' time on a track that any driver would be happy with, then in goes Freddie with a total 'no fear' and 'balls deep' approach that wipes the floor with Harris.

Last week on the RallyX stage and this week on the off road course for reference....

Fair play to Fred for doing that walk with a dodgy knee. Thought I saw him running when daylight was fading.

Worst part for me was the Speedtail, sorry, McLarens just don't do it for me, though good to see old style TG showing military in a good light.

The highlights which even got laughs from the Mrs, the watersplash, and the "Would you guys like a Dirty Rascal!" Reply "You can stick it up your arse!"

If we start a gofundme campaign to buy you a dishwasher does that mean they can drop the feature smile
