This seems to be something that was completely glossed over. The whole premise of the show was that some'baddie' from the future wanted to disrupt the Civil Rights movement, and yet we never learnt anything about who he was or why he specifically wanted to do that. And not a Dalek in sight.
If there was it would have been a racist white oneMoonhawk said:
.. IMO it might have worked better if the protagonist from the first episode had fatefully picked Rosa Parks as his ‘random victim’ - and the Doctor had to stop him to keep history on track ...
I agree; would have worked better as a plot, but we'd have still had to suffer the unnecessary heavy handed preaching. The Dangerous Elk said:

If there was it would have been a racist white oneThe Doctor travels to 1948 and lands on the Windrush to sort out a gender neutral toilet for this slightly confused Dalek searching for a better life.
Not at all, I'm seeing this sort of right on st at my sons middle school.
Boys are no longer allowed to be boys, they are not allowed to play fight, have any rough and tumble with each other, tackle at football during break or do anything remotely male.
They are not allowed to take the Micky out of each other any more like we all did growing up either.
Speaking to the other parents it is becoming very apparent that all the boys are feeling pretty lost, they don't know how to behave, how to just be a boy anymore.
Boys need this to find life's boundaries and it is being taken away from them.
This is just more of the same.

I never said that at all. Why do people keep feeling the need to twist things?
This is exactly the sort of st I am talking about. We are seeing a real issue at our school with young lads being told off for just being boys, doing what they want to do naturally and it is leaving like depressed zombies.
And then we have tts saying things like you just said. You obviously think that to have even thought that.

I didn't see it but I have read reviews, did she really say about Rosa Parks "She changed the world. In fact, she changed the universe"? That USA based Civil Rights Movement seems to have got around a lot more than I thought.
It's just part of the British media's subservience to all things American.thegreenhell said:

It was in reference to the fact that an asteroid has been named after her:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minor_plan...

Why the ad-hom attack. Why not just debate the points raised like an adult. Is it forbidden to point out a tired plot points or lazy story telling.Do you not think they could have done something more interesting with the story than ‘racist white blokes still exist far into the future’.
