First episode of the new series was really funny, the second and third episodes not so good.

Hadn't realised it had started again.

Thanks for reminder.

Not on UK tv E4 yet but they are plugging it as "coming soon".

hopefully it'll go out with a Big Bang rather than a Bazinga.

Just watched the first few of the new series and EP1 was a little Meh with only 1-2 chuckles but EP2-3 were very poor!

I thought it was okay ,about par for the later series'.

Luckily I tuned in 1/2 hour early as it seemed I hadn't seen the last of the previous series with Mark Hamill et al.

I honestly don't think I laughed once.

ETA:- And looking at the above comments on episodes 2 and 3, it doesn't look like I'm about to laugh at it anytime soon.

I laughed twice, but I can't remember what at now, but it's been a long time since I actually laughed at it.

Still... I've hung on this long, but I'm only in it to see how it ends now, I wouldn't mind a murder/suicide type thing, be a welcome increase in pace.

I absolutely love this show, I think it's one of the greatest comedies in the history of the known universe - but even I would admit that last night's episode was incredibly weak. If the rest of the series is the same, then letting it die is the kindest thing to do.

I'm sure the talented cast will find better things to go to. Or just retire to spend the millions they have made out of this one.

It's highly unlikley that any of them will ever find other work that's as good as that they did on TBBT. You only have to look at the cast of Friends & How I Met Your Mother to see that these things are a fortunate coincidence of time, scriptwriters & unknown actors & it's difficult for the actors to re-create this later.

I suspect that one of the biggest issues is that the actors become too rich & powerful & insist on being an Executive Producer to give them control over the script & how their character acts & develops. They forget they aren't scripwriters & often the funniest situations aren't the ones you might want to have to act out.

You'd imagine that there's no actual need for them to work again, as with people from Friends or similar. I've seen an ad for a BBC thing with Simon Helberg in it (Howard) though now I check IMDB, I suspect it might have been the film Florence Foster Jenkins. But he's got quite a list of stuff on there - much as I enjoyed "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip", I hadn't realised he was in it.

That recent film is just about the only thing I've seen any main cast member of BBT in, apart from Kaley C who had a semi

regular part in Charmed.

Coincidentally, I watched Kaley Cuoco in a film on daytime tv yesterday (Untouchable) and she does seem to have been in regular work for a while, so I can imagine her continuing to do so. Although, I can imagine she can afford to be a bit more picky now. The rest will probably drift into obscurity / very early retirement. Might put a bet on Sheldon to host Top Gear in a couple of years time though laugh

Simon Helberg has been in quite a few things. he's a pretty good actor.

Think he's also related to someone in the movie industry.

Johnny Galecki (Leonard) was reasonably famous before TBBT. He was in the National Lampoon's Vacation films, and then was a regular in Rosanne.

TBBT is likely to be his biggest gig though.

His mother is a casting director according to IMDB, and his father is something in films too, but I forget what.

I've just watched the episode from last night, seemed OK to me. Not sure why they've bothered re-vamping the graphics if this is the last series. Unless they did it ages ago and I've only just noticed.
