I've owned a Tesla for over 4 years and I can say that I've never had range anxiety once. I've done quite a few long journeys (200+ miles) and I travel at slightly above average motorway speeds (top quartile).
A mate uses his Tesla 3 Performance to travel all over the country on business, he would never swap back to a normal ICE car now. Equally, he wouldn't consider anything other than a Tesla, their supercharger network has all others beaten at the moment. He regularly does 250+ miles in a day. Twenty minutes or so and there's another 100 miles in the 'tank'.

250 minus 190 is 60. What’s the issue?
My point was, that when discussing 'range anxiety' it is often said drivers never do 200 miles without 30 min break. I've always considered this untrue.
Fine, but that isn’t what you said. You said in your example that you’d be worrying about range and wishing you’d charged it on the return trip, and would have to deviate from your ideal route to do it. But your battery retrieving mission would have been completed comfortably in a Tesla with a 250 real world range.

Whatever you say. I'd contend that 60 miles until a dead stop on the M3 is not quite comfortable but that's a statement of opinion not a fact so let agree to disagree. wobble

p.s. It's nothing to do with 'deviation from my ideal route' your words, not mine. I wouldn't want to spend 20 mins staring at the A13 near Tilbury Docks just to add 100 miles to the 'tank'. I would consider that a tedious waste of time, others may be happy to do so in exchange for what is currently cheap energy in comparison to petrol.

But wouldn't you actually spend that 20 minutes watching telly or something? smile

Late to the party, but the Chiron video was awesome and Harry's excitement was palpable. What a fantastic insight to a piece of motoring unobtainium.

Thanks. I struggle with his presentation style.

He reminds me of me when I had to make a couple of corporate videos years ago... 'pretending' to chat with the staff. Hilarious for those who know me, cringe inducing for those who didn't.

I like watching Iain as he's so knowledgeable and that overrides any presentational issues. He walks a little stiffly - I wondered if he had a false leg or something. Not sure!

Agreed. I like the content, and can forgive that he's no 'media chap', but he's not someone I could spend much time with in person!

You lot do make me laugh. He seems like a very friendly and knowledgeable chap who clearly isn't 100% comfortable in front of the camera, and why would he be? I'd rather spend 30 minutes watching one of his videos than the vast majority of vloggers and I'm sure he would be a lovely fella to have a pint with.

What a bizarre comment to make. I'm sure he'd feel the same about you if he read this.

Possibly gout. hehe

His videos are great viewing though, I'm glad that Harry twisted his arm into starting them.

Did I suggest it was? I'm sure some posters would rather visit a cocktail bar with one of the less knowledgeable, trustfund financed gobstes that seem to be very popular. Each to their own though of course. smile

100%, the world needs more of this kind of thing and less "I've ordered another supercar"

The latest video is the first one I haven't watched.

Just struggled to garner enough interest to click on it.

And I'm not an EV hater, we've got one.

This leads to a downside re weight, but ultimately no one relevant on planet Earth cares about the weight of vehicles. That's likely to change over the next twenty years when it dawns more widely that weight equals waste but no one of any importance actually cares at this moment in time.
Given the importance placed on driving down waste and utilising 'renewables', why isn't this being paid attention to now..?

I think an M3 weighing >1800kg is retarded, so am unlikely to buy anything produced post-2000s anyway, but I don't see anything to like about modern cars nowadays. With the exception of a select few (Alpine A110, Alfa Giulia, ND MX5 etc.), every car released nowadays is bigger/heavier than its predecessor, without any discernible benefit...

I'll carry on driving my 660kg 4 seater saloon car until the fossils run dry driving
