She is so lucky.. not to be the headline tomorrow.
Pissed me off massively, that has.
I'll be here tomorrow.
So will I, but the SPMs deserved to have had their moment with the chairperson going through the enquiry ringer (hopefully prior to court - Corp manslaughter, wrongful imprisonment, perjury and more should be on the list).
PCOJ at this level (Category 1, highest seriousness, I assume, given they knowingly sent innocent people to prison) carries a tariff of 4-7 years imprisonment under 2023 sentencing guidelines. Just happened to look them up last night smile

I joke about some conspiracy theories and then some I consider possible.

But the timing of what is seemingly going to happen later is utterly and remarkably convenient for hiding away her pathetic performance from general scrutiny.

But who benefits from this distraction technique? Who or what is so important that the spotlight needs to be taken from her when people have been waiting for years to explain what she has been responsible for?

Something about this really doesn’t sit right.
PV is still on the front page of BBC news website, along with a gurning Richie Rich!

Tories are distraction masters! They've learnt from Boris, a master at answering the questions you DIDN'T ask!

Sincere Apologies!! Once I'd answered re Diversion Tactics, the Rant just spewed forth biglaugh

Anyway, GE or not, PV will be back tomorrow. Can't wait to see what her distractions will be wink

edited and rant removed / posted in the correct thread!

Sir Wyn - WHY?

If you need time to think about it, you can tell me in the morning.
That line of questioning was superb, but even when cornered so expertly she couldn't admit the truth.

Her attempt to answer, swiftly followed by silence tells its own story and imo casts significant doubt on whether she has been telling the truth thus far.

I am pretty sure she will be having a troubled nights sleep and will have to pray very hard for guidance from above.

Would be nice if something that came out of this was that Commons Select Committees have to approve senior appointments to publicly funded roles.

The could ask candidates the really difficult questions like “What did you have for breakfast?” to test their memories.

Alan Bates was interviewed and had some news.
.......... he met "senior" Metropolitan Police staff on Wednesday morning to discuss possible prosecutions following the Post Office scandal.
"They are certainly going to investigate, I've had that assurance and I think the group needs that as an assurance," he said, "it's something that we've never been certain of until today."

Imagine how that would get abused though. The cushy jobs that only the 'right' people could be appointed to. In theory it makes a lot of sense but I doubt the reality would be a good system for anyone except a select few.

She's been telling her twisted truth, a version she's been repeating to herself until it becomes reality in her mind no doubt, but as for the actual truth no I'm not sure beyond stating her name she came that close to it.

She is that unreliable, if she told me her name I would want to see her driving licence.

I would be very surprised if anyone gets jail time, no matter how much they deserve it,

the government has stated that the prisons are full and not to arrest large numbers of people, sadly they will not be seen as a threat to society so will not serve time.

I fear Mr Bates may be being led into a trap. By saying they will investigate means more years of drawn out investigations, and in the process stopping a private prosecution.

Then decide there is insufficent evidence or no public interest in a prosecution.

Far better to accept the reality that the state isnt likely to put any of these people in court, never mind behind bars, and press on with private prosecutions?

I had similar thoughts when he said it, simply intent; afterwards as you say. As someone mentioned above the prisons are overflowing anyway.
Reckon Alan Bates is shrewd enough to realise the same but he'll want to put it out for public consumption to say he was told.

There is a fair chance that she would produce someone else’s that she had been given and failed to check!

I liked the “unluckiest CEO” comment at the start - I would say that most incompetent May be more appropriate.

Notwithstanding that jail time should be appropriate imo, I would accept a guilty verdict followed by removal of all pensions and repayment of bonus payments received.

Won’t happen though

The reality is though 8/10 on here would probably have behaved the same way as the PO people if they were in their shoes.

You really think 80% of people would actively destroy people's lives purely to cover up a vendor providing a system that was flawed?
