[quote=Mastodon2]I hear the odd episode of this when I'm in the car but never enough to keep up with the story or really even figure out who the characters are.

What happened to the grumpy old guy who is living like a recluse? His son and some drunk Scottish guy always seem to be trying to get him to leave the house.

What happened to the Bulgarian-sounding woman who was having a kid for those two blokes? Did she stitch them up? I always thought she sounded like she was on the take. [/quote

Jim was abused as a child and recently came face to face with his abuser at his birthday party.

Bulgarian woman is pregnant but went back to Bulgaria to be with her kids. Adam and Ian are busy doing last chance things before becoming a dad. They have been over to see her so it’s not gone wrong yet.

Tonight was a bit gruesome. We knew the Ed calamity was coming and well acted in my opinion.

Do we know if this is related to the 'drain issue' under the kitchen? Did Gav' light a match?
I'm assuming it is. There was reference last night to "the workman", and on Sunday Linda was about to go to the kitchen to tear him a new one for being too noisy.
Or did Gav get some mug to cover for him? Ed maybe?

Well, I'm becoming deeply saddened by this thread.

Some of you seem to be under the impression of this vile conspiracy theory that these people aren't actually real, are in some way "played by actors" and that none of it is actually real?

Really? With people ended up in hospital? Those difficult lambing births? The DREADFUL colour of that car?

You should be ashamed of yourselves........
Fake noos.

Are you for real? It's clearly not a documentary.

Harrison has not been documented flying drones overhead telling incoming townies to disperse before the yokels attack them with pitchforks and bog paper has not become the fiat currency.

Actually, are there any townie second home owners in the Archers? I know Justin stays up in Town from time to time but I can't recall a storyline where there is griping because people drive up from That London or Brum at the weekend with a bootful of Waitrose shopping and never spend any money in the village shop.
I think The Aldridge’s sold Home Farmhouse to some.

Won’t listen till tomorrow, but they should have spoken to podcasters who have managed to put on sophisticated shows with multiple presenters in different continents remotely for years

I missed a bit. Did Alice get stfaced and end up in hospital? Given how boring The Archers has been of late, is it worth my hunting out this particular episode on Sounds?
Yes, have a look. Gav was involved too obviously.

I've not listened to this for about 6 months - Is there a summary? What happened to the whole Linda storyline? Did Gav marry Kirsty or did she run off with his son? What happened to Freddie? Should I care or just listen anyway?
Linda is recovering. There was a bit of a blip where she did not think Robert was attracted to her anymore, but they have sorted that.

Gav did not marry Kirsty, and neither did his dad, Philip. There is a big story long developing (I think) over slave labour, nicknamed the Horses.

Allice is turning alcoholic, and is also pregnant. She has not told Chris and is contemplating termination. Gav is her confidant after he found her collapsed on the side of the road pissed. Emma and Chris have fallen out over drunken Allice's treatment of Ed. Chris has not spotted the drink problem yet.

Susan gossips. The Archer family are very quiet at present. Freddie has not been heard of for some time.

Kid is one of the slave workers - the horses. Phillip is threatening to sell him to a mate as he can't do heavy work due to the injury.

The slaves appear to belong to Phillip.

It’s a story line that I don’t recognise. Is it really a problem in the country? Not that I’m aware of, but perhaps that’s the point...
