GRace's non-spoiler review, aparrently, it's a pretty darn amazing film, as good as BTTF.

I have tickets, but forgotten when. I think GoT has taken up all my thinking time this week.

Either that or change this threads title to include "No Spoilers" and have a seperate thread for people who have watched the film to be able to discuss it freely.
On first read I thought that was silly, but really, it'll stop any annoyance and people will wanna discuss it freely...apparently it's amazing.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Just got back, great week made film. A full theatre with spontaneous applause at some points in the show. Well worth watch again when the crowds die down a bit. A good conclusion to some of the main Avengers stories, but not in a way I saw coming for the end.
Ed
there was applause in mine too, at one place, and maybe at another...I can't recall the last time I experienced that at the pics.Ed

Don’t worry Disney will buy Sony pictures before too long.
I thought that was gonna happen a few years ago, when SOny was in the stpit, and it's parent was looking to flog it. But perversely, the success of SPider-Man has helped it rejuvenate after the hugely awful cack implosion of Ghostbusters. I don't see Disney being able to purchase Sony now, it has enough of a headache with Fox, which has made Bob Iger postpone (maybe indefinitely) his presidential run.midnight edge has some decent vids on SOny, and they are pushing ahead full steam with their spider-verse...ergh
THe google gauntlet...very funny...press twice! At least the google gauntlet does the right thing and goes back in time!
I may rewatch this with people around, hearing people (not annoyingly, but respectfully 'ooooohh' and 'ahhhhhhh' through a film, and clap was pretty cool. THere were no annoying people...which is surprising as it was full....it was the vip seats though.

I thought that scene was condescending more than empowering. It wasn’t natural in anyway either.
Good film but annoyed at Hulk and Thor. Really thought angry Hulk would have a moment with Thanos.
Yeah. There was one moment, I thought Worldbreaker HUlk was here, but instead, his arm got shredded. sad face. Good film but annoyed at Hulk and Thor. Really thought angry Hulk would have a moment with Thanos.

I'm not a Marvel fanboy but like a good movie and have watched a few of them. Just watched the trailer for this one having read an effusive review on BBC and it's packed with every movie cliche going: slow-mo group walking, steely-eyed firing at targets, explosions hurling characters toward the camera etc etc. Will probably go anyway in the hope/expectation that the whole thing is better but the trailer is bloody awful.
TBH, like Infinity War, if you haven't seen a lot of the previous ones you will probably enjoy this one the least. Because every character has had a movie (or six) to build their character development, this one takes no time to flesh out motivations or why people like/dislike each other, why a certain moment is hard/important, etc. You'll just be sitting there wondering why everyone is cheering/sobbing.It would be like watching the last episode of a supposedly great TV series and wondering why everyone is so upset.

No shame in that, half the men in my screening seemed to have dust in their eye I think even Mark Kermode cried and he's not particularly invested in these films.
Yeah, I enjoyed the MK review. As he keeps reminding us, he has no investment in these characters, but he had a great review.I too really liked the first third...and the second third was just so much fun.

$1.2b opening weekend. Absolutely bonkers, even with a massive second weekend drop it's surely got to pass Titanic into the second biggest of all time.
Wholly moly. I checked this morning before the gym,and the boxoffice page was 600 odd million, just behind that Chinese film.https://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4507&p=...
wish I'd taken a pic now, I saw your post and thought, WTH.
It's been updated!
wowsers, hollywood won't be able to best this for years. I saw all the one day, records went, and just about every other one. Glad I picked it for number one now
I also see CM has pipped 1.1bill
And to think, pundits were pooh-poohing the idea of a three hour blockbuster, a lot were saying the studio would make the Russos cut it down to 2.2hrs or something. I'd like to know if Iger ever had that chat with Feig, or if he simply accepted Feig and the Russos knew what they were doing all along.

How often does a film come out that is the culmination of not just say a trilogy, but TWENTY TWO previous films. It’s really unprecedented. The MCU turned from Iron Man into just this insane industry all on its own. Just staggering
Of course you know, one of the sad/annoying things is, other companies will still try and copy (without understanding) the universe concept.Avengers Endgame Oscars - Best Picture, Best Actor?
