I'd rather be lost with the Bush Tucker man. Original and cool.

According to wiki his first name is Edward and his older sister nicknamed him bear when he was born. He has since legally changed his christian name to bear.
Edward Bear was the official name of Winnie the Pooh, for all those who lack a traditional upbringing smile

I do wonder at ray Mears though. For a chap that runs around surviving on grass clippings & ferret poo, he does seem a bit tubby. I always think the crew are stood there holding his big mac meal while he bangs on about bamboo stew.
He does a nice line in rock-cooked salmon and various other freshly caught foodstuffs!

I've read this a few times and still don't understand what you're saying. Makes not one jot of sense old bean.

Les Hiddins win, purely because this is his company car.

I like Man vs. Wild because it's entertaining but I think trying to copy it in a real survival situation would be a death sentence. Some of it could definitely be useful but 99.9% of people are not physically capable of climbing half the stuff he does in the show.

Just that 'Edward' is the classic name to put before 'Bear'.

You can also have Rupert, of tartan trousers fame, and his glamorous sister Dani...

I think he's a pretty entertaining watch and I have to say there's a lot of stuff he does that no amount of money would get me doing so..

I assume this is some kind of troll as I can't believe that members of PH actually think that this charlatan has any credibility.
Throwing yourself off waterfalls and eating unknown plants and animals might be entertaining for the camera, but it's not going to keep you alive long.
The guy is quite frankly a moron.
This isn't him on the summit of Everest then?

Yes,this 73 year old woman found it a bit of an ordeal as well.Mind you she's already done it once so she's had a bit of practice.

Why don't you give us your list of life achievements then? Seriously, that's one hell of a chip on your shoulder there to have bothered dredging this thread back up just to post that.

ETA: Whilst this thread is back up, did anyone catch these on C4's VIP?

Not mentioned so far, but are we aware Bear is a proper god botherer?

Not that it's an issue, I like his stuff, and agree that it needs to be seen primarily as entertainment.

You dragged up a thread that no one has posted in for over 3 months just to post a story that has absolutely nothing to do with Bear Grylls in an attempt to denigrate him (never mind everyone else that has climbed the mountain). Or was there some other purpose to your post?
