Just occasionally I get the "Lost" vibe from it - that they're making it up as they go along. Hope that it doesn't go to st.
Blackie (as no-one is calling it) seems to be doing a decent job of mixing the dual arcs of the relationship between Red and Liz and the Husband's mysterious background with enough "Villan of the Week" content to make each episode interesting.I'm definitely enjoying this programme, enough content, mystery, action and storyline to keep me watching it bang on time rather than finding on the planner and sitting through it.

It's slightly annoying how good Red is, he hasn't once been in a situation that he hasn't handled with eloquent elegance. I want to see him in a position of threat, rather than truning his nose up and coming up with a turn of phrase that sorts it all out. I do, however, really like how brutal and to the point his character is. The Soupmaker goes in the drink and the asian is simply put to bed without a blink.
Yep, well put. Wasn't sure if I was going to get into this series, but Spader really is so watchable and as you say eloquent yet brutal.
Looking forward to watching last night's episode.

Just watched Friday's and really enjoyed it, just a bit gutted that the remaining episodes of the first series won't be shown for a while.
They are slated for 14th January in the US and it seemed like the first set were only a week or two behind on Sky so not too long to wait hopefully!Caught up with the latest 2 episodes of this last night and enjoyed it. It really would be absolutely nothing without Spader though and it's a shame he doesn't have a stronger actress working opposite him in the other key role.
I'm not convinced it will hold my interest for the 44 episodes it is now signed up for, but we'll see.
(Also, did anyone else cringe at the horrendously done Mercedes Benz product placement in episode 9. It was laughably bad.)

The whole show appears to be Mercedes backed. If you look in Episode 10 theres a shot of the back of the Passat driving away from the girls house but they have discoloured part of the logo so you cannot easily tell its a VW badge!
And I like the girl. A lot!
Does it really matter if it was Merc backed? It just means they found an alternative way of paying Mr Spader's wage for the episode And I like the girl. A lot!
What are the odds though of a) finding what must have been an AMG merc, and more importantly b) someone that could drive it to that degree? I doubt it was some fat CEO on his way to a meeting!

Also watched the latest 2 episodes (Anslo Garrick) back-to-back last night and still thoroughly enjoying this series, looking forward to it coming back in January.
Thanks for the info oobster. Being old gits, we missed any mention of the gap which may have been broadcast, and there was a Pete
