There were probably cinema visits before this one but, the first one I can remember was Star Wars in 1978. I don't remember watching the film but, I distinctly remember queuing outside and staring at the poster (which was significantly bigger than a 5 year old me!)

The living daylights in the old Granada cinema in Slough. Old skool locals will know it.

Long long long since gone to dust.

The original Jurassic Park. It was a cracker.

The second was meant to be the irishman, but I've been left extremely disappointed with Hollyfkingwood

Now the truth is out!

I saw this at the flicks and my (younger) brother hid behind his coat.

My first film, I think, was Jungle Book. I lived out in the sticks so it would have been a good decade after it was released until it was shown at our local cinema.
Jungle Book was mine too, circa 1969/1970 I think. My gran took me and my younger brother, Ritz Cinema, Strathaven. It was a double bill with Old Yeller, luckily we saw JB first because Old Yeller scared my brother (OK, and me!) silly (when the boy is trying to get in to see the rabid dog) and we had to leave.

Can't remember. But I can remember the first X movie I saw in the cinema - my Dad took me to see The Gauntlet, aged 13.

Cant remember for sure, but was either a midweek matinee showing two films Bambi and Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs, or a separate showing of the Fox and the Hound which was showing around Christmas time 1981.

I was only 4 and didnt really have much of a choice with what film I saw. smile

Return of the Jedi, think I saw it after star wars, but before empire strikes back.

Couldn't make it up laugh

In fact, the first four films I saw in the cinema were;

Return of the Jedi '83
Temple of Doom '84
View to a kill '85
Back to the future '85

Back when a trip to the cinema was a proper adventure, and a genuine treat.

Only in your teens?

Some here were quite grown up, relatively speaking, before they saw a film in the cinema.

Any particular reason or...? Just curious.

1st film was Star Wars in 1978.

2nd film was Warlords of Atlantis also in 1978.

I loved both, I was 7.
