The premise is great, so the potential for a really gripping story is there, but this all going to come down to the story having a proper ending and great script writers. I am keeping my fingers crossed

Cracking first episode, i'll definitely be tuning in.

Though the acting from the lead guy (Joseph Feinnes) was really poor.

How they can have him as the lead, then Jack Davenport as an ancilliary character i don't know...

If the future is only 6 months away, I take it the show will end in March?

nono

I suspect that as they'll keep re-winding to the 'event' in order to show someone elses story from that point.

The simple plot device has opened up an almost endless possibilities.

Allegedly the creators of Flashforward have the outline of the whole story arc written out - they know how the first season will end, and also know how the whole series will end.

Which in theory makes for a much stronger/consistent story (thinking only one other series has done that - Babylon 5?).
Battlestar Galactica had the same story arc worked out which I think reflected in its quality. Reading on Digital Spy the Flashforward writers say they could finish the story in 3 series but would perhaps not rush if ratings were good. Lets just hope they don't pad the series too much and the pace moves along nicely.

From what I've heard and read about the series, Jack Davenport's character turns out to be a bit more than ancillary....

Which is good - I've always enjoyed his stuff, since This Life in the early days and Ultraviolet (which was another story that had so much promise but was killed off early - albeit by the writer on this occasion, rather than the TV network).

The Lloyd Simcoe character is one of, if not THE, central character in the book, apparently. I know the plot has been rewritten but I'm guessing that they wouldn't make the character wholly superfluous if they have bothered to keep the name.

Didn't see any of BSG, somehow it totally missed me .... but from what I've read they dropped the ball on the season finale?

Was one of the people sat around the table in teh FBI building Seth MacFarlane who does Family Guy, or just someone that looked a lot like him?

29th April 2010 is supposed to be when the last episode of Lost is supposed to be aired, or so I've heard?

FF is from the same producers, so is it just a coincidence?

(I've never watched Lost, so I've got no idea what happened in it.)

As there are 18 episodes in the final season, and assuming the last two are on the same day, Lost would have to start 1st Jan to finish by 29th April

= unlikely!

ETA: its also NOT by the same 'producers' as Lost...just the same channel.

I hope not too. I saw a billboard for the Lost airline, and that kangaroo makes me suspicious that it's going to turn into a turd like Lost did.

I've heard that this first series of FF is 22 episodes long? Can anyone confirm or deny that?

Most American series (sorry, seasons!) are anywhere between 20 and 24 episodes long.....

Although the 1st series is often a little bit shorter....

So yeah, it wont be far off 22....
