Wow that brickie did an awesome job of the column.
A shame that the underfloor heating didn't work out quite as intended.
Especially so for a first attempt. I suspect the failure of the UH is down to insufficient updraft, due to not using enough of those flue liners (sorry, can't remember the correct name). A shame that the underfloor heating didn't work out quite as intended.

Tubuli? And yes, I think you might well be right, with enough of them surely more smoke would be carried out of the room (mind a few less holes/gaps etc may help!).

That's it, Tubuli. Mind, was wondering if the chap cleaned out the bottom of the tubuli (where it met the floor) as, with all the broken bits and mortar that were falling down, it is likely that it would not improve air flow. And yes, I think you might well be right, with enough of them surely more smoke would be carried out of the room (mind a few less holes/gaps etc may help!).

Exactly....did you see the way that DIV was putting the Tubuli together! Laughable.
Indeed! Should have engaged brain before thumping them with fist. Jasandjules said:
Looks that way.
But what is impressive is just how advanced the romans were 2000 years ago!!
Indeed! Thought it a nice touch when the professor did the reversal of roles and, the lad did look the part dressed in Roman finery. I wonder if they will do a followup in the near future as, will be interesting to see how the workmanship holds up.?But what is impressive is just how advanced the romans were 2000 years ago!!
