The gun was left by Ed? THere was a clip of Ed just before the event..didn't he say, 'I'm going to set you free'?
At first I thought she pulled it free from the robot that was going to rape her. But then I wondered about Ed.
SOmeone above mentioned they reckoned that Ed had tried to hack her in the barn, in a cerebral sense.

Enjoying so far, but potential for it to go stupid. Trying to be too clever.
One thing.... guest on guest fight involving a knife. This will surely inflict the normal injuries of a knife. With this being the case how can WW manage that risk to guests? The guests might not know the fight is with another human guest!
By being too clever, there already seems a lot of gaps in believing how things would run in this 'world'.

I paused the pic of Arnold, when hopkins said he "died" in the park it seemed to be metaphorical.
Arnold is the man in black maybe?.I couldn't see much similarity apart from the thinning of hair. Born there and has been there for years we've been told and can act with impunity, even going to areas which seem relatively unknown (the "mexican" area) and familiarity with the bots, especially the blond girl (let's get re acquainted right from the start).
Maybe he's looking for his final code by embedding bad memories in the bots and watching the reaction the second and third time around as he's familiar with the routines, hence the dissection (scalping) of the bot in E2, trying to ascertain how far advanced they have become.
Maybe I've had too many Aspalls ciders (3 for £5 in Tesco).

This is starting to remind me of Sense8. Good first episode, fast moving, goodies, baddies, seemed to be an intriguing story line. Then 9 episodes of beautifully shot cinematic quality 'storyline' where the characters were developed, but so slowly that you ended up being bored. Then episode 10 where the baddy returned to try and leave it on a cliff hanger for a new series.
It's no Game of Thrones, but maybe that's the difference between a 'real' author and TV script writers having to worry about renewals.

I didn't get that from Sense8 at all, I thought they did a really good job of hanging the 8 individual story lines together and linking them up. They also, crucially, had characters to sign post the rules. It's no Game of Thrones, but maybe that's the difference between a 'real' author and TV script writers having to worry about renewals.
I also disagree that people who write TV shows are not 'real' authors. Some of the best shows on TV have no connection at all from books, and lots of books are rubbish. Some stories are just better conceived and delivered than others.

I can't recall if there's been mention of Kissy being missing by anyone in the company. Yet they sent a search/recovery party out when the woodchoper/constellation carver went rogue. How have they missed Kissy when the robots are regularly reset?
Hole in the script, that one I think.Do we know they've missed him? They might have brought him in that evening and patched him up thinking sone guest just got a bit knifey with him.
The woodcarver guy it sounds like had been missing for a few days, and they only noticed because he was miles out of his normal stomping grounds.

Who knows, maybe. Kissy never appears again though - the actor who played him died not long after. The woodcarver guy it sounds like had been missing for a few days, and they only noticed because he was miles out of his normal stomping grounds.

On another note - what is the significance of the gun that keeps appearing, the gun that Dolores used to shoot the bad guy in the barn. Is it a fault in the system similar to the way Dolores gets shot and bleeds, then suddenly isn't?
That's surely her seeing memories of previous loops. When you saw the man shout, then shoot her, that was a memory...so this time she decided to run. Same with the gun being there, then not. They've done this a few times, same with the indian attack turning into Ed Harris. They're starting to remember and change their actions based on those memories. On another note - what is the significance of the gun that keeps appearing, the gun that Dolores used to shoot the bad guy in the barn. Some mixed reviews on here.
Must say I am finding it fascinating and as much for the little moments as the big.
The stand out scene for ep3 for me is when Dolores is talking to the cowboy and seems to realise that whilst she is attaining consciousness he is just responding with rote responses.
In general I think that Evan Rachel Wood (who plays her) is amazing and not just because she is hot.

Yep agree, it really is a great performance and very nuanced. She can convey so much with just her facial expressions alone, you can literally see her flipping between her states of consciousness.
It's telling that although she is often naked in her scenes, you often spend most of the time riveted to her face more than the other obvious bits so as not to miss her subtle facial cues which really is a first for me where naked women are involved.

The other female guest with Ted seemed genuinely scared, not really a nice experience for someone whose paid a lot of money to be there, I'd be wanting my money back.
Never been on a rollercoaster??When she started screaming, I thought the opposite... "Wow! Value for money... she's crapping herself!!" (Even though surely she knows the bullets can't hurt her...)
However, then I realised the terrorists were human and thought maybe she was right to be screaming!!
